Tonight’s meeting:

For Christian leadership, “victorious” doesn’t have to mean winning or always succeeding. It can mean remaining faithful, growing, getting back up, and becoming who God created you to be even when things don’t go as planned.

Pair that with AHG’s Grit with Grace: Growing Through Feedback and Rejection:
With a mind of Christ, our attitude becomes “They gave me something I can learn from.”�
• AHG Victorious theme: Because Christ is with me, setbacks don’t have to defeat me. 1 Corinthians 15:57, which states: "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
• Frieda B. Finkledee Ink: it’s easier to take setbacks, because my worth and gifts come from God for God.
• Pride Before the Fall: Christ calls me to humility, not pride. A Godly leader listens and humbly receives and gives feedback.
• Hunting and Makeover: I can receive correction with by listening humbly because God can use it to help me grow.

If my confidence is dependent on Christ and His gifts for me, and not me being perfect, I can actually listen when someone tells me how to improve.

All of it: Through Christ, we know our worth, walk humbly, receive feedback, grow from our mistakes, and persevere with grace, becoming the kind of servant-leaders God calls us to be.

Frieda B and the Finkledee Ink book-Finkledee Ink gives the girls a picture of where confidence really comes from-Frieda thinks the special ink is what will make her a great writer. When the ink is gone, her confidence crashes too. But she eventually realizes the gift was already inside her. The official Frieda B. material specifically connects the story with dedication, perseverance, belief in yourself, and the support of others.

We did TWO service meetings today! First, we learned about Kentucky Disaster Relief and how to help them in natural disasters. Second, we met at Faith Christian Camp and painted tables! What a great day to serve in God’s creation!

Lord, thank You for showing us what it means to be victorious.
Help us to lead with humility, to fill buckets with encouragement, kindness, and service. Give us humble hearts that are willing to listen, receive feedback, and learn from our mistakes.
When we face disappointment, rejection, or setbacks, help us not to give up. Give us the courage to get back up, keep growing, and trust You through the process.
Help us become leaders who don’t just seek to be strong ourselves, but who help make the people around us stronger.
Thank You for the opportunity to lead and serve. Help us represent You well in everything we do.

Selah has been working with her church and local association for several months preparing for a community outreach event! She has collected food, packaged bags and helped to promote the event. On the day of the event, Operationinasmuch, she served at her church handling out backpacks, food bags and praying with the community. At the end of the event she helped load leftover bags up and delivered them to residents of Baptist Housing! Good job, Selah!

Here is our starting night itinerary and WHY we chose these activities:

Sharing service hours-Leadership means serving as a team

Big/Little Sisters- We have each other’s backs, we care for and encourage others

Victorious Scripture-Our identity isn’t dependent upon success

Grit with Grace-Feedback can help us grow and be humble leaders

Humble Pie snacks-We lead with humility

You’re Out game-We can handle disappointment

Makeover Challenge-Resilience, we can listen, adapt, and try again

Fill Someone’s Bucket book and activity-Leaders can take feedback and setbacks with humility, we intentionally build others up

Girl leadership roles-Leadership is practiced, not just taught

We don’t have to be perfect to be a good leader. We can serve others, receive correction, learn from our mistakes, handle disappointment, and keep growing with God’s help.

Today, our girls had the privilege of serving at Mill Springs National Cemetery, cleaning the headstones of those who have gone before us.

Biblical leadership is about being willing, valuing others, serving faithfully, and doing what is right even when no one is watching.

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” — Philippians 2:3

They practiced gratitude, humility, service, respect, resilience, and reverence.

As we work through Biblical Leadership and Grit with Grace, we want our girls to learn that strength is not always loud, and leadership is not always visible. Sometimes it looks like kneeling in the grass, carefully cleaning a headstone, and understanding that honoring someone else is a privilege.

We pray that they will remember this day, the history they learned, and the people they honored.

What a privilege to help raise girls who understand how to honor those who made sacrifices for them. 🇺🇸❤️

Three years ago, a connection through Carry The Load's National Day of Service & Remembrance inspired Valor & Honor Outdoors to begin serving Quantico National Cemetery during Memorial May. What started as one day of service has grown into an annual tradition where volunteers and local high school students honor more than 2,500 heroes by placing American flags, supporting cemetery beautification, and preserving the values of patriotism and remembrance.

This is what Carry The Load is all about—creating opportunities to honor through action while inspiring lasting impact and strengthening communities.
