It starts with a few flags in the ground.

What begins as a rough route marked through the woods can eventually become a trail that invites people to explore the property, slow down, and see Menucha from a different perspective.

Our volunteer trail crew has been steadily working throughout the property to improve existing trails and create new ones. It’s a lot of digging, clearing, hauling, trimming, and figuring out the best way through the landscape. And then there’s the satisfying part: seeing a rough line through the woods become a real trail.

We’re grateful for the volunteers who put in the time and muscle to help care for Menucha’s trails and the land around them.

🎻 Throwing it back to last year’s Bluegrass in the Gorge! 🎻

Last year, the Grange Hall filled with bluegrass, familiar faces, new friends, and a whole lot of toe-tapping. There’s something special about hearing live music in a room filled with people from our community.

And we’re doing it again!

For decades, Menucha has welcomed participants from across the country and Canada for the Pacific Northwest Great Teaching Seminar.

For five days, community college educators gather to share ideas, wrestle with the challenges of teaching, learn from one another, and enjoy the kind of conversations that happen when people have time to step away from their usual routines. The seminar intentionally leaves room for those informal moments, too, when some of the best conversations can happen over a meal, on a walk, or sitting together on the grounds.

We love seeing Menucha filled with people who are learning, sharing, laughing, and building connections. Here are a few glimpses from this year’s gathering. 📚🌿

The Hearth is a community storytelling organization that believes sharing stories can strengthen connection, heal divisions, combat loneliness, and inspire compassionate action. They bring people together through storytelling gatherings, retreats, training, and community events.

We’re grateful that Menucha can be a place where their work unfolds, where people gather to listen, share, learn, and connect.
