Dear Friends,

The Greater Pittsburgh Area Chapter event is something we look forward to each year. That makes it all the more disappointing that we must cancel the upcoming fundraiser. Disappointing though it may be, we have built a reputation on adhering to science-based approaches. We must follow these tenets with the threat of Coronavirus looming and follow guidance from our state’s medical experts.

Gathering with you all, the most dedicated conservationists and upland enthusiasts, raises essential funding for our mission, and we look forward to planning another event as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we hope you will consider contributing to our habitat work via donations through our website’s store and look for a virtual fundraiser event coming soon.

Regarding your ticket or table purchase for the cancelled event, your ticket chair (Angel Po***ck - [email protected]) can help with several options:

Convert your ticket purchase to a tax-deductible donation to promote healthy forests for grouse and woodcock. Spring events are a major source of conservation funding, and cancelling events will have a significant impact on these efforts.

Renew your membership and receive a partial refund for the dinner. If you paid by check, we will deduct $35 to process your membership renewal and will send you a check for the balance. If you paid by credit card, we will process it for $35 only to cover membership renewal.

Request a full refund of your event ticket and membership renewal. This means that you will need to renew your membership via mail or on the RGS | AWS website.
Our events generate camaraderie as we fundraise for the birds we cherish and the habitats they need to thrive. We know this short-term disruption won’t deter your enthusiasm and passion. Thank you so very much for all you do to create healthy forests and abundant wildlife. We look forward to spending time with you in-person again soon!

Sincerely,

Lisa Rossi
Director of Regional Development
Ruffed Grouse Society | American Woodcock Society

P.S. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization your donation to RGS | AWS is tax-deductible. As an organization with a four-star rating from Charity Navigator for five consecutive years, your donation is carefully invested in creating healthy forest habitat and abundant wildlife.
