Dr. Alan Moy, Founder of the John Paul II Medical Research Institute, published a paper in the journal, "Medical Research Archives" - the publication journal for the European Society of Medicine. The title of the article, "The Challenges to Advancing Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell-Dependent Cell Replacement Therapy", represents a comprehensive review of the scientific hurdles that need to be addressed to achieve the promise of this emerging technology. The intent of this manuscript is to assist the stakeholders of this field that include academia, industry, regulatory agencies, financial institutions and patients to better understand the potential solutions to these technical challenges.

Campaign for Cures Fundraising Update For End of October

The financial needs for the "Campaign for Cures" for 2023 is $1,000,000. Our research is accelerating at a faster pace than ever before. As of the end of June, the Institute has raised $218,000. However, we are still far below our fundraising target at this time of the year. The Institute needs to raise $782,000 by the end of the year to reach our goal. We achieved all the major scientific milestones that we promised in 2022. These included advancement in respiratory virus vaccine research; developing platforms for advancing stem cell therapy for neurodegenerative diseases and cell-based cancer treatments; and offer an alternative and ethical replacement of aborted fetal cells used in the routine manufacturing of advanced medicines. The Institute is the only non-profit organization that has addressed the problem of using morally-illicit cells in bio-manufacturing over the past half century. We are pleased to report that we have achieved scientific milestones on time and within budget. The objectives for 2023 is to raise $1,000,000 before the end of the year to help defray the cost of further advancing the stem cell research for neurodegenerative diseases. Additionally, these funds will also be used to also cover the research costs to advance adult stem cell research for treating cancer. The funds raised by the "Campaign for Cures" has achieved important research milestones. Iowa Board of Medicine Decision Against Alan Moy MD

Dr. Moy discusses the outcome of an investigation by the Iowa Board of Medicine against him. An anonymous complaint was made to the Iowa Board of Medicine, which alleged that he disseminated misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccines. What was unique about his case is that the alleged misinformation was done out of a personal financial conflict of interest to promote the Institute’s Campaign for Cures to develop a competitive vaccine that could be offered to religious consumers. The alleged public misinformation that he was accused of making was that the COVID-19 vaccines were ineffective to the extent that they could not prevent infection, nor stop viral transmission. Dr. Moy discusses the background on why he decided to include coronavirus vaccine program as an additional priority to the Institute's therapeutic priorities. He discusses the failures of Operation Warp Speed and he discusses his experience with high level government officials within the Department of Health and Human Services that led to his decision to include respiratory virus vaccine research a priority of the Campaign for Cures. Important scientific data is discussed on why coronavirus vaccines should not be administered to infants.
