Toys for Tots and The Salvation Army in Iowa City cpollected and distributed more than 20,200 toys, stocking stuffers to just over 5,300 children in 2025. 🚂🎄🎁 We are grateful for the generosity of Johnson County Agricultural Association for the accommodations at the Fairgrounds to make this possible! We appreciate all the support we have once again received from their Board and Staff!

We also want to give a big thank you to PODS Moving & Storage for providing extra storage space needed for early toy donations. They deliver convenience and accessibility with their portable containers.

Johnson County Toys for Tots has about 70 volunteer slots left to fill during Dec. 8-19th. We especially need help Dec. 12-19th.

Roles include:

- Sorting/organizing toys

- Assisting with checking in families

- Assisting parents with shopping for their kids

- Bagging selected toys for families to take home

- Packing up the toy shop on the last day

- Translating for families speaking Spanish, French, Arabic, etc.

There are many 2 hour shifts to choose from and it's a fun, hands-on way to give back — and every set of helping hands counts.

Johnson County Toys for Tots needs volunteers Dec. 8-19.We already have more kids signed up than in years past and registration continues until the end of the month. We especially need help Dec. 16-19.

Volunteers can pick up toys from businesses, or sort, organize, and prepare toys, books, and games, or assist parents in shopping for their kids. We also need translators for families speaking Spanish, French, Arabic, etc. There are many 2 hour shifts to choose from and it's a fun, hands-on way to give back — and every set of helping hands counts.

Many THANK YOUs to the men of the IMCC Veterans Group, The Green Market, New Directions, Wellness Group, and Dog Program. These groups have a purpose to raise funds to support each other while incarcerated and give back to the community. We appreciate your donations which help us be able to purchase toys for ages that we have a shortfall in.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the Ockenfels Family who had their annual Christmas celebration in September. They chose to donate gifts to Toys for Tots instead of a traditional gift exchange. We appreciate the many wonderful toys, books and games that came our way and will be given out in December to area families in need.
