💕We are here for you Hailey 💕🇺🇸🇵🇪
Friends: Cancer has come into my life. My family. My sweet Hailey, the light of our family, was diagnosed with it a few days ago.
Hailey is the kindest, sweetest girl. So full of life, love, and smiles. Hailey experienced the highlight of her year when she got into the Junior Varsity Cheer team at her new high school. At the same time, she began experiencing worsening back pain. She couldn't sit. She couldn't sleep. She'd break down in tears from the pain. After visits to the ER and many doctor appointments, they found a tumor in her lower spine. Then, just days after her 14th birthday, we received the biopsy results confirming the tumor was cancerous- and growing aggressively. The type of cancer she has is called Ewing Sarcoma. But this cancer hasn't met Hailey yet! She is a warrior. And she is determined to get back to Cheer and fight this with everything she has.
Our lives turned upside down overnight. And in the pain and tears, we have rediscovered how strong she is, how strong we are together as a family, and how much love surrounds us. Our community rallied around us from the moment they found out. Friends, family- even strangers in the hospital, new moms I met recently who have fought this fight and walked down this path with their own kids. They embraced my family without hesitation. There is so much love, even in the darkest days. 💛 I won't pretend that this hasn't broken something in me. Watching your kid face this is its own kind of pain. But in that pain, I can also experience awe. And I am in awe of my daughter. She meets every hard day with the same light she's always carried, and I am so proud to be her mom.
