Founded in 2013 to provide support and education for young people in transition from the foster care

Turning Point Transitional Services, Inc is a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization. We support young Broward county residents age 18-24 that are in transition to independence from the foster care system.

It is with deep gratitude and heavy hearts that we announce the permanent closure of Turning Point Transitional Services, Inc. on 31st of October 2024.

This organization has dedicated 12 years to empowering foster care teenagers on their journey to becoming successful working professionals.

We are incredibly proud of the lives we’ve touched, the futures we’ve helped shape, and the community that has supported us throughout this mission. 🙏

To our staff, volunteers, partners, and especially the incredible young people we’ve served—THANK YOU. 💙

Though this chapter closes, the impact of our work will continue through the achievements of the resilient individuals we've had the privilege to guide.

We are eternally grateful for your trust and support.

1 in 5 experience homelessness within a year of aging out of the foster care system.

Only 50% of former foster youth graduate from high school.

65% of foster youth attend more than 7 different schools between kindergarten and age 12.

They are our children and they need our help. We as a community can share the responsibility of supporting and preparing them for a successful and productive future.

This would be a prudent course to take. We can help them now. Not when they are already incarcerated or in homeless shelters.

The freedom of moving out on your own is very exciting, but it does come with a lot of responsibilities. Make your first apartment living experience a great one by understanding your rental lease requirement.

Although the idea of having their apartment is exciting, many first-time renters are nervous about signing the lease and are oftentimes confused by the terms and legal jargon. Participants that attend our session are expected to understand the rights and responsibilities of both a landlord and tenant and understand that the lease agreement is a legally binding document.
