This August, during National Make-A-Will Month, we are reflecting on the many ways a legacy can create lasting change.

Recently, SAHF celebrated the inauguration of the Intermediate Care Unit at Hospital Bloom, El Salvador’s leading public pediatric referral hospital. The new unit expands access to specialized care for children who require close monitoring and critical support, helping more children receive the care they need.

This milestone was made possible through the combined efforts of Fundación Bloom Hospital, the Ministry of Health, and generous philanthropic partners, including the Guerrero Family, whose contribution of more than $240,000 helped bring this vision to life.

Their generosity is a powerful reminder that compassion can become something much greater: a place of healing, hope, and better healthcare opportunities for children and families.

As the world celebrates the excitement of international soccer and tennis's biggest championships, we're reminded that talent knows no borders.

Today, we celebrate legendary footballer Mágico González, along with Hugo Pérez, Steve Purdy, Alex Roldán, Cristian Roldán, and Marcelo Arévalo, who recently made history as the first Salvadoran to win a Wimbledon title, capturing the 2026 Mixed Doubles Championship and reaching the Men's Doubles Final.

Whether competing on soccer's biggest stages or making history in tennis, each has demonstrated that perseverance, discipline, and hard work can open extraordinary doors while proudly representing Salvadoran talent and heritage around the world.

At SAHF, we believe sports do much more than build athletes. They help build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and leadership.

Through our Sports & Development Program at the Residencial Libertad Educational Complex, children and youth build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills that help prepare them for life.

236 children and youth participate in activities that strengthen both physical and personal development.

The impact is already evident:

⚽ 44% improvement in social skills

⚽ 57% increase in leadership

These young people are developing the confidence and life skills they'll carry into their classrooms, communities, and future careers.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to discover their strengths, pursue their dreams, and reach their full potential.
