Situated along the oceanfront in Mid-Beach, Carillon Miami Wellness Resort bridges classic South Florida resort design with modern wellness architecture. 🌊🧘‍♀️

Originally designed in 1958 by Norman Giller—the pioneer of Miami Modern (MiMo) architecture—the property balances its historic mid-century geometric facade with the largest spa and wellness sanctuary on the Eastern Seaboard (70,000 sq. ft.). From its immersive 9-circuit Thermal Experience to its integrative medical wellness labs, the spatial layout is engineered around restorative health, natural light, and ocean breezes.

The 3-acre Canopy Park (designed by ArquitectonicaGEO) demonstrates how landscape architecture can serve as a climate-resiliency tool for coastal communities.

Developed by David Martin and Russell Galbut and gifted to the City of Miami Beach, the park features native tree canopies, bioswales, and a 25,000-gallon rainwater cistern to manage storm runoff. Beyond its environmental impact, the space boasts pedestrian trails, a MONSTRUM children's playground, and public art—all connected to South of Fifth via a signature pedestrian bridge designed by Daniel Buren.

Inspired by Picasso’s belief that true design transforms the simple into the extraordinary, Casa Mas by Doo Architecture turns strict Miami Beach building constraints into pure spatial sculpture. ☀️🏛️

Constructed as a series of raw concrete volumes, the home uses geometric interplay, courtyards, and an organic curved glass curtain wall to guide natural light into every living space. The entrance hides the interior journey, inviting guests to slowly discover each room as they move through the home.

Commissioned in 2005 by Craig Robins for the inaugural Design Miami/, Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid’s site-specific installation Elastika remains a defining landmark inside The Moore.

Spanning four levels across the historic 1921 atrium, the fluid, taut sculpture was designed to simultaneously complement and challenge the building’s classical geometry. Celebrating this iconic synthesis of art and architecture, the building's ground-floor restaurant now proudly carries the installation's name.

Crafted as a sleek, tropical extension to an existing Miami home, the Hammock Drive Pavilion by Upstairs Studio Architecture showcases site-specific design at its finest. 🌿✨

Using native Floridian oolite stone, warm Cypress wood ceilings, and smooth concrete, the team designed a pool house and loggia that frame the surrounding lush landscape. Envisioned like a glowing lantern, the pavilion serves as a focal point from the main house while using large glass openings to blur the boundaries between indoors and out.

Design that’s built to be enjoyed just as much from afar as it is from within. What material detail stands out most to you? 🪨🍃
