One thing nobody really tells you when you join 4-H is just how many people are about to become part of your story.
You might join because you want to show an animal, learn a new skill, go to camp or because your parents signed you up and you didn't have much say in the matter, lol But somewhere between all those meetings, contests, county fairs, long road trips and late nights, you start making friendships that you never saw coming.
Some of those friendships start with a kid from another county who becomes your biggest competition and somehow your biggest cheerleader too. Some start at camp with a group of kids you've never met before. Some are built sitting in barns, waiting for your turn in the ring, practicing speeches, working on projects or laughing so hard at something completely ridiculous that you can barely breathe.
And the funny thing is, you don't realize how special those friendships are while you're making them. You're just kids having fun, sneaking in some fun, working hard and making memories. Then one day you're grown, everybody has families and lives of their own, and you realize some of the best people you ever met came into your life because of 4-H. Some of those friends are still the first people you call. Some you haven't seen in twenty years, but I bet if you ran into them tomorrow, you'd pick right back up where you left off.
So today, I want to hear about the friendships that little green clover gave you. **Tag a friend you met through 4-H, tell us how you met, or share an old picture of the two of you!** I have a feeling we're about to bring back some pretty good memories. ๐๐๐
