Copper Harbor Trails Club

Copper Harbor Trails Club Michigan's northernmost mountain biking trail network. IMBA Silver Level Ride Center since 2012. The Copper Harbor trails are free to use and open to the public.
(303)

Our trails are open year-round, come rain or sun or feet of snow. We welcome trail users of all ages, ability, race, color, orientation, gender, religion, profession, or however else you identify yourself. On the trail, we’re all equal in our love for being outdoors in the Keweenaw’s magnificent woods and rocky shorelines. Our trails are sustainably built and optimized for mountain bikes. However,

that’s not to say that other trail users aren’t allowed. With the exception of a few dedicated downhill rippers, all of our singletrack trails are multi-use for all non-motorized pursuits. That means hikers, birdwatchers, berry pickers, rockhounds, backpackers, trail runners, dog walkers, photographers, and basically anyone propelling themselves with their own two feet can use our trails alongside our mountain biking brethren. In the winter, snowshoers, and backcountry explorers take over the system. XC skiers and fatbikers can enjoy a few loops closer to town on the easier-to-groom terrain and unplowed roads. Per our landowners’ requests, we do not currently allow E-bikes on our singletrack trails. The Copper Harbor Trails Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are officially incorporated as the Copper Harbor Trails Society Inc., but we thought Club sounded more appealing at some point in our history and stuck with it. We partner with several other organizations in the Copper Country to improve trail access and conditions for all users. Our goal? To make the Keweenaw one of the top trail destinations not just in Michigan or the Midwest, but the world. Don’t believe it? Come up and see for yourself what makes Copper Harbor so special!

Thursday night group ride is 🔛

Bring your bike, bring someone who's never come before, and let's get properly warmed up for what's ahead this Trails Fest weekend.

General Group and Ladies Group both roll out 6:30pm from East Bluff Bike Park. No drop rides here. We regroup, we wait, we ride like the whole point is being outside together.

See you out there!

This year's Enduro course maps are out in the wild!

All racers start at East Bluff, with Sport and Expert riders finishing in town.

Expert riders, buckle up. We're unleashing a brand new trail on East Bluff, race weekend only, never ridden before, never ridden again (probably). We're calling it Speed Trap, and yeah, the name alone should tell you everything you need to know. Loamy. Loose. Fast.

You do not need a number plate to have a good time during Orbion x Copper Harbor Trails Fest on Labor Day weekend!

Between the racing, there's a whole weekend built for spectators too: catch a mountain bike film on the lawn, grab a plate at the farm-to-trail community dinner, wander vendors, bid on ArtBike posters, jam to live music at Donny Kilpela Park, and find your favorite trailside spot to cheer riders on.

Want to know exactly where the best places to watch, park, and listen are? We created a full spectator guide to help you have the best weekend possible.

Trails Fest is almost here, and Overflow needs a little love before the downhill racers let it rip.

In place of the Thursday Night Group Ride, join us for a Dig Day as we dial in one of Copper Harbor's fastest, rowdiest descents. We'll spend the afternoon clearing, raking, trimming, movin’ rock, and making sure the trail is race-ready.

The best part? Once the work is done, we'll have shuttles running up Brockway so everyone can take a few laps and enjoy the trail they just helped prepped.

On August 27, bring shelves, rakes, your own beverages and meet us at the Community Center @ 5 PM (or whenever fits your timeline)!

Bands booked ✅ Now we just need you here🤝

This year's lineup is stacked with artists who've all got U.P. in their blood, one way or another.

//SATURDAY//

Finding Feathers Music: Nashville transplants who fell hard for the U.P. and never left playing songs you love, songs you know, and songs you’ll fall in love with.

: progressive bluegrass and Americana, originally from the northwoods of Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula, now based in Minneapolis.

//SUNDAY//

: a Marquette-based band whose sound flows from intimate harmonies to high-energy, dance-worthy performances.

Brookie: closing us out with northern country tunes topped with a little psychedelic harmony.

Racers and volunteers get in free. Not racing? Grab a wristband at the gate for $20 and you're set for the whole weekend. Want it for free? Snag a volunteer spot and earn your way in.

7–11 PM both nights at Donny Kilpela Park during Orbion x Copper Harbor Trails Fest. Sept 5-6.
