To our Coppell ISD community,
We regret to report that Proposition A did not pass for Coppell ISD. To the 10,627 community members who voted in favor of the VATRE, we would like to express our sincere gratitude. Thank you for rallying behind our district’s commitment to attracting and retaining the highest-quality educators through competitive pay and consistent cost-of-living raises. Your voice and support are deeply appreciated.
We were hopeful that the additional funding that would have been generated by approving the VATRE could help bridge some of the gap left by state-wide underfunding of public education. Unfortunately, without its passage, the district now faces more difficult financial conversations in the near future.
Though we are saddened by this outcome, we will not let this setback stop us from supporting our wonderful Coppell schools and teachers. We remain committed to advocating for this district, and we hope our community will stand alongside us as we navigate continuing challenges together.
For those looking for ways to support our teachers in this moment, we hope you will consider donating to the Coppell Education Foundation. The Ed Foundation is currently in its Give for Grants cycle, with 30 active grant campaigns spanning all campuses in CISD. These grants provide direct funding to our educators to enhance and transform the learning in their classrooms and programs. You can also provide a general or recurring donation through CEF’s website.
