Save the Lives of Heroes

As a career firefighter, I have seen brothers and sisters face the harsh realization of cancer and mental health concerns. It is factually known that cancer is more prevalent in the fire service , and firefighters are dying from cancer, at higher rates compared to the any other illness or injuries. The cancer death rate for firefighters is increasing faster than we can find ways to help, and FACES wanted another way to provide help to firefighters diagnosed with cancer or mental health illnesses. FACES was created by the passion and desire to help, and be unlike any other foundation that provides assistance to firefighters with cancer or mental health illnesses.

Firefighters often need financial assistance for medical deductibles, treatments, and other financial aspects related to cancer or mental health illnesses. We believe that eliminating or decreasing the addition of financial stress can also reduce significant mental health risk associated with a cancer diagnosis or mental health illness. Many firefighters develop depression and other forms of mental health stresses that are debilitating to their fight against cancer.

FACES is dedicated to helping firefighters through financial aid, referring peer support, or finding the appropriate resources to assist in fighting cancer and mental health illnesses.
