September 17 was a great day when our Transcend STEM Education outreach team was able to support residents at our partner community, Fifteen Forty Apartments, with digital connectivity, utility assistance, and essential household items to help ease some of the financial challenges they are facing.

A heartfelt thank-you to our donors and connectivity sponsors whose continued generosity makes this work possible. Together, we are helping families stay connected, meet everyday needs, and build greater stability.

On Sept 15, our Executive Director Haphen Muchapondwa had the honor of joining City of Balch Springs Mayor Rodney Taylor and Balch Springs Chamber of Commerce President Alvester Gibson at the Villas of Hickory Estates Senior Center to discuss future initiatives to support local seniors.

During the visit, Transcend STEM Education provided much-needed donated items and shared digital connectivity options to help seniors stay connected and access essential resources.

We are grateful for opportunities to collaborate with community leaders and strengthen support for the seniors we serve.

New Beginnings Through Opportunity & FREE Community Resources!

Transcend STEM Education was invited to participate in a Job Fair hosted by Northwest Community Center, working alongside other like-mission organizations to welcome and support newly arrived refugees as they begin building their lives and careers in our community.

Together, we shared valuable community resources and connected individuals and families with opportunities designed to help them move toward greater stability and self-sufficiency.

At the Transcend STEM Education table, we provided information about career training and industry-recognized certification opportunities that can help participants gain in-demand skills, strengthen and their careers and we especially focused and enrolled for the upcoming Transcend STEM Education | Amazon experiences scheduled for Sept 21 and Sept 28, 2026 at the Amazon Corporate Offices.

We were also able to provide families with FREE essential items, including household goods, diapers, wipes, small appliances, and other much-needed donations.

We believe true community impact happens when organizations come together—not only to meet immediate needs, but also to create pathways toward education, employment, economic mobility, and long-term self-sufficiency.

A special thank you to Northwest Community Center for bringing organizations together and creating a welcoming space where our newest neighbors could access resources, opportunities, and support.

Stabilization → Training → Employment → Opportunity

This event left us feeling incredibly grateful. Seeing families take the next step toward safe and stable housing reminded us that a home is more than a place to live. It is a foundation for hope, growth, and new opportunities.

We are thankful for our partners, donors, and supporters who made this possible, and for the families whose resilience and determination continue to inspire us. Together, we are not just providing resources. We are helping create a brighter future and stronger communities.

This experience left us feeling humbled and grateful. While we came to offer support, we walked away inspired by the resilience and positivity of the women and children we met. Their stories reminded us to cherish our blessings, lead with compassion, and never underestimate the power of community.

This week, we had the privilege of sharing clothing, household items, and other essential resources with a wonderful group of women, many of whom are single mothers experiencing homelessness.

It was truly heartwarming to turn some of those tears into smiles—to sit together, share a meal, listen, pray, encourage one another, and remind these women that there is still hope and that brighter days are ahead.

One of the most touching moments was learning that a couple of the children had missed celebrating their birthdays because their parents simply did not have the means to make it happen. We were blessed with the opportunity to celebrate them together and make their day a little more special.

Sometimes impact is more than meeting an immediate need. It’s about creating a moment of joy, restoring hope, and reminding someone that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
