Today marks the beginning of Pride Month, and at Carve Your Own Path, Inc., we are standing proudly alongside our LGBTQIA+ community.

As a trauma-informed and inclusive mental health organization, we recognize that Pride is not just a celebration. We acknowledge the current sociopolitical climate and the unique, heavy burdens it places on the safety, mental health, and overall well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Navigating systemic oppression, hypervigilance, and minority stress takes a profound toll on the nervous system.

Our mission has always been to build a space where every individual can seek wellness services completely free from fear of judgment. True healing requires systemic equity, communal support, and the uncompromised right to live authentically. We are still buzzing from our first round of The Calm Crew at Leggett Elementary! 🧘🏾‍♀️✨

It has been such a privilege to witness these 5th-grade students grow over the last few weeks. From mastering new breathing techniques and yoga poses to learning how to advocate for their own needs, they have truly shown what it means to build community through wellness.

Watching them take these tools from the mat back into their classrooms and homes is exactly why we do this work. A huge thank you to the Women’s Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation and our partners at Akron Public Schools for making this space possible. We are just getting started!

⏰The countdown is officially on for our first annual Christmas in July event.

We are bringing some holiday warmth to the summer heat on Saturday, July 25th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Summit Artspace.

This fundraiser is all about highlighting and celebrating our local community.
