What does the name mean?

Well, if you ask Google or Alexa, you will get the answer that “peg out” means to die in British language.

Peg out also means to score the winning point in cribbage.

I chose this name for three reasons. First, obviously peg being short for Peggy. Second, let’s go to the British term- die. We WANT cancer to die. We WANT cancer to lose the battle. Lastly, to score the winning point in cribbage. Aunt Peggy loved to play cribbage with Allen, Carolyn, and Russell when they would visit her. She even taught me how to play! She was a teacher to her core. She was not defeated, she fought hard and she won. She is with her Heavenly Father with no more treatments nor pain. She scored the winning point!

was started in memory of a genuine soul, Peggy Murphy. Mrs. Peggy to her students, Aunt Peggy to many. Mom to two. Nana to several. Friend to all. She never stopped serving Christ. Her actions definitely spoke louder than her words. Her laugh was so contagious that everyone in the room would not even know what had been said, they just seen that Aunt Peggy turned purple for laughing so hard.

This page is dedicated to Peggy and the life that she lived. We have a scholarship in her name that has been given to a graduate of Cooter High School for two years now. We hope to continue to help children as she always had done. Continue to watch this page for updates and opportunities for you to support our effort to keep Peggy’s legacy alive.
