October is AAC Awareness Month 💬

A child was leading the play, pointing to words, noticing them, and saying them. When we realized he was referencing words from this AAC board, we pulled it down and joined him there.

No demand to use it. No expectation to communicate a certain way. Just following his lead, modeling language, and making more communication available in the moment.

AAC can be part of play, exploration, connection, learning, and joy.

At Bridges, we believe communication belongs everywhere—and every way a child communicates is worth listening to. 🧡

We’re growing our Bridges team! 💛🌈

As we continue building our founding year at Bridges, we’re looking for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher/Director to join our team and help us grow.

We’re so proud of the incredible team currently supporting our children and families, and this search is part of our continued work to build a strong, sustainable team for Bridges for the long term.

✨ Educators, therapists & developmental professionals are encouraged to apply! We welcome candidates with backgrounds in early childhood education, special education, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, social work, or related fields.

We’re looking for someone who believes deeply in strengths-based, relationship-centered, neurodiversity-affirming practice and is excited to work alongside our collaborative interdisciplinary team.

💛 Part-time leadership role — approximately 25 hours/week
💛 Low 3:1 student-to-staff ratio
💛 OT & SLP co-teaching
💛 Farmington Hills, MI
