Please talk to your kids, and please be safe!
Micromobility laws are being actively enforced in Cooper City.
Deputies are addressing violations involving e-bikes, scooters, and other micromobility devices—especially reckless riding, sidewalk misuse, and unsafe operation in neighborhoods and school zones.
Key reminders:
Sidewalks
• Max speed: 10 mph
• Must slow to 5 mph when near pedestrians
• Some areas are restricted
Roadways
• Only permitted on streets with speed limits of 25 mph or less
• Ride with traffic—not against it
Zero tolerance for:
• Reckless riding
• Ignoring traffic signs/signals
• Not obeying school zone speed limits
• Carrying passengers
Penalties:
• $50 citation
• $250 for repeat violations
Parents/guardians may be held responsible for violations involving minors.
This is about safety—not convenience. If you choose to ignore the law, you will be cited.
