Seven major civic organizations in C**n Rapids coming together to have fun and raise funds for a common cause. Organizations involved include the C**n Rapids Police Department, C**n Rapids Fire Department, C**n Rapids Kiwanis, C**n Rapids Rotary, C**n Rapids Lions Club, C**n Rapids VFW and C**n Rapids American Legion and the Women of Today. The 2017 Chili Challenge will donate proceeds to pay down

the lunch dues for students who's lunch accounts are in arrears. The 2016 Chili Challenge raised just over $1,000 towards the food shelves located in three schools in C**n Rapids. The 2015 proceeds were donated to the Hope 4 Youth Teen Shelter in C**n Rapids. The 2014 Chili Challenge raised just over $1,000 towards the purchase of our newest K9 "officer", Billy (shown above). All 8 organizations involved provided their own chili (two roasting pans full!) and the condiment table was sponsored by Cub Riverdale, Cub Northdale, Jensen's Foods, Rainbow and Costco. Plans are already in the works for the next Challenge, so stay tuned!

The 2016 C**n Rapids Chili Challenge raised $1,086 for the food shelves in C**n Rapids High School, CR Middle School, and Mississippi Elementary tonight!

Thank you to everyone who attended and thank you to all of the contestants for contributing their time and their outstanding chili! A shout out to Cub Riverdale and Cub Northdale for contributions towards the condiment table! And of course we appreciate the Legion for the donation of space!

Great job everyone and we'll see you next year at the 2017 CR Chili Challenge!
