The Anoka Area Tennis Association, AATA, is a nonprofit organization that will be established soon to promote, coordinate and enhance the quality and growth of tennis in the Anoka county area. It welcomes all individuals who enjoy the game of tennis as a participant to visit local facilities & parks to participate in tennis play of all kinds and all levels. er good health and sportsmanship through the wonderful game of tennis --- the sport for a lifetime. Our aim and goal for the AATA player’s directory comes from my own personal experiences in finding tennis players in my area to play sets, practicing or maybe joining a group to play a doubles match. Unfortunately tennis isn’t like going to the park joining a pick-up basketball game or golf where you can go to your favorite course and be placed with a foursome. There are many online tennis leagues around town you can join but for me they only foster good competition. Most time these players are only concerned about getting into playing the match and win or lose its time to move on the next match. My hope for this directory is that it will be well received by players who aren’t caught up in just there win totals, and will enjoy the sportsmanship and want to foster friendships and hopefully will play just for the fun of the game. Once AATA has enough members we’ll section off players in age groups of 18 and under, mid-age 20-30-40’s, and seniors 50’s and up [Men/Women].
