🔥🎤 BIG FIRE BALL ANNOUNCEMENT! 🎤🔥

We are excited to officially announce that Dave Schwartz will take the stage as the emcee of the 3rd Annual C**n Rapids Fire Department Community Fund Fire Ball Gala! 🚒✨

If Dave looks familiar, there’s a good reason!

Before joining Minnesota Sports & Entertainment, Dave spent 15 years as a sports anchor and reporter at KARE 11, where he became a familiar face to sports fans across Minnesota. During his time at KARE 11, Dave also co-hosted KARE 11 Saturday with Belinda Jensen, earned two Emmy Awards, and covered five Olympic Games — Sochi, Rio, Pyeongchang, Tokyo and Beijing.

Today, Dave is the Director of Corporate Communications and Engagement for Minnesota Sports & Entertainment (MSE), the organization that owns the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Forge. Now in his fourth season with the organization, Dave leads corporate communications, employee engagement and public relations initiatives and regularly serves as an emcee and host for events.

Whether he’s in front of a television camera, working with the media, hosting an event or communicating in a high-pressure situation, Dave is a natural storyteller who knows how to connect with an audience, think on his feet and bring energy to a room — and we can’t think of a better person to help us make this year’s Fire Ball an unforgettable night!

When he’s not working, Dave enjoys spending time outdoors, camping and fishing, and playing and coaching hockey. He lives in Chaska with his wife, Shannon, their children, Jack and Evelyn, and their dog, Phoebe.

Yesterday was a special day as we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the newest AED SaveStation at Sand Creek Park.

This project is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around a common goal. Through partnerships with Play For Patrick, Advanced First Aid, the C**n Rapids Youth Hockey Association (CRYHA), C**n Rapids Rotary Club, the C**n Rapids North Star Lions, C**n Rapids Mat , Carlson Toyota, the City of C**n Rapids, MN - Local Government and many others, this life-saving resource is now available to the thousands of athletes, families, and visitors who use Sand Creek Park each year.

On behalf of the C**n Rapids Fire Department Community Fund and the Fire Ball Gala Committee, thank you to everyone who has supported our mission. Whether you’ve attended the gala, sponsored an event, made a donation, volunteered your time, or helped spread awareness, you have played a role in making projects like this possible.

What started with a vision to improve AED access in our community has grown into SaveStations at C**n Rapids High School, Riverwind Park, and now Sand Creek Park. But our work isn’t done.

Every installation, every training opportunity, and every awareness campaign brings us one step closer to a safer, more heart-ready community. We know there are still gaps to fill, more lives to protect, and more opportunities to make a difference.

A heartfelt thank you to our firefighters, volunteers, community partners, donors, and supporters who continue to make this mission possible. Together, we’re building a stronger, safer C**n Rapids—one SaveStation, AED, and CPR training at a time.

The C**n Rapids Community Fund was proud to support the C**n Rapids Snowflake Days Kids Medallion Hunt once again this year. ❄️🧭

The Fire Community Fund was created by firefighters to give back to the community in as many ways as possible—and what better way than through a fun event just for kids.

Congratulations to this year’s Medallion Hunt winners, Zoey and David! 🎉 Each received a $200 gift certificate to Erik’s Bike Shop to put toward a brand-new bike. 🚲

Thank you to everyone who came out to participate, and a big thank-you to the Snowflake Days Committee for organizing the event, as well as the City of C**n Rapids, MN - Local Government for their continued support.
