We’re still looking for vendors for MakerFest! MakerFest is looking for handmade goods vendors, food vendors, artists, small businesses, nonprofits, kid-owned businesses, demonstrators, makers, and creative folks of all kinds. This is a two-day event built around local creativity, hands-on learning, family fun, live music, demos, races, food, and community. Vendor spots are still available, but they won’t stay that way forever. Come be part of the Upper Cumberland’s most creative weekend of the summer.

The MakerFest Motor Show is happening Saturday, July 18th, and all vehicle types are welcome. Whether it’s a classic car, custom build, motorcycle, truck, modern ride, project vehicle, or something unique, we want to see it at the fairgrounds. We’ll have prizes from local businesses in multiple categories, so there are plenty of reasons to show up, show off, and be part of the fun. Registration is just $15 per vehicle, and all proceeds support the missions of UC Makerspace and Imagine Foundry, two local nonprofits working to expand hands-on learning, creativity, entrepreneurship, and community opportunities in the Upper Cumberland. If you’ve got a vehicle worth bringing out, Saturday is your day.

Event info, vendor info, and registration info are all available on the website at https://ucmakerspace.org/makerfest

📸 Learning Looks Different for Every Child

One child is building a robot.

One is learning to sew.

One is making lunch for the group.

One is caring for a guinea pig.

One is painting.

One is taking apart electronics.

One is pretending to be a doctor.

One is swinging quietly in a sensory space.

And every one of them is learning.

At Imagine Foundry, we believe learning and play belong together. Our studios are designed so children can enter through their interests while building skills that last a lifetime.

🛠️ Build in the Maker Studio

🎨 Create in the Art and Painting Studios

🤖 Explore technology and robotics

🍳 Practice cooking and kitchen skills

🎭 Step into imaginative worlds through pretend play

🧩 Solve problems, collaborate, and invent

🌱 Care for living things and their community

What makes our space unique is that children are not just participants. They are contributors.

They help prepare meals.

They clean up after themselves.

They care for materials and shared spaces.

They mentor younger children.

They learn how to take ownership of their day.

Some children arrive ready to jump into a project. Others spend time observing first. Some love technology. Others would rather sew, paint, build, cook, or play.

There is room for all of it here.

Because learning is not one-size-fits-all.

It happens through curiosity, responsibility, creativity, movement, conversation, mistakes, persistence, and play.

Every day at Imagine Foundry looks a little different.

That's exactly the point. ❤️

One of the coolest hands-on experiences at MakerFest will be with Forged in Fire Champion Jason Crum. Jason will be bringing live forging demos to MakerFest, giving guests the chance to watch real metalworking up close and see the kind of skill, heat, and craftsmanship that turns raw steel into something incredible. Even better, attendees will also have the opportunity to try their hand at forging something themselves. That means this isn’t just a demo; it’s a chance to experience the process, feel the excitement, and step into one of the most iconic maker skills there is. If you’ve ever wanted to see blacksmithing in action or say you actually tried it yourself, MakerFest is your chance.

The MakerFest Vendor Market is shaping up to be dangerous for your wallet in the best possible way. We’ve got handmade goods, food, art, gifts, apparel, soaps, crafts, tools, oddities, home goods, and all the stuff you didn’t know you needed until you saw it sitting under a tent looking cute. Come shop and support local, come meet the makers from all around the Upper Cumberland, and leave with something better than a receipt from a big box store.

Sunday night at MakerFest, international recording artist Jay Fleming takes the stage. Spend the day shopping vendors, eating festival food, watching demos, cheering on races, and soaking up the creative chaos, then stick around Sunday evening for a live performance worth making plans around. MakerFest is already a full weekend, and Jay Fleming gives Sunday night one more big reason to stay.

MakerFest Saturday night just got louder. We’re excited to announce that Blackwood, a high-energy hard rock band from Nashville, TN, is joining our Saturday night music lineup. MakerFest is already packed with vendors, food, demos, races, repair clinic activities, and creative chaos, but Saturday night is getting a serious shot of rock energy. Come spend the day at the Old Putnam County Fairgrounds, then stick around as Blackwood helps bring Saturday night home the right way. July 18–19 at MakerFest 2026.
