🦪 What’s hiding inside an oyster?

Our October adventures at Imagine Foundry have included some pretty exciting discoveries!

One of our special activities gave our young makers a chance to explore real oysters, investigate their shells, and discover the pearls hidden inside!

We talked about how pearls form, examined the oysters up close, and then put our jewelry-making skills to work.

Each child got to turn their pearl into something special, choosing to create a necklace, bracelet, or keychain to take home.

It's pretty amazing how one little oyster can lead to so much curiosity and creativity!

And that's what we love about Imagine Foundry. Sometimes a science investigation turns into a beautiful piece of jewelry! 🦪💎

Fall Break has officially started at Imagine Foundry! 🍂🌲

We have lots of hands-on adventures planned as we explore Beyond the Biome: Fall Break Day Camp but some of the best moments happen in between.

Today, the kids gathered in the Discovery Gardens, made up their own games, and played together. Different ages, different ideas, and plenty of imagination. ❤️

Fall Break Day Camp runs weekdays now through October 19, with flexible options to join us for a few hours, a half day, or a full day.

🔨 It’s Fabrication Friday at Imagine Foundry!

Today started with cardboard, tools, and a question:

What do you want to build?

There was no sample project to copy. Each maker came up with an idea, figured out how to shape the cardboard, and started building.
Some of our makers already know their way around these tools. Others picked up a cardboard saw or hole poker for the very first time today.

That’s part of making.

You learn how a tool works. You try something. You notice what happens. Sometimes you change the design. Sometimes you ask someone to show you how. Then, little by little, an idea that existed only in your head starts taking shape in your hands.

And judging by the cardboard structures taking over the Foundry today, there were some pretty big ideas in those heads. 😂
