El Puente has taken the time to outline the ways you can help members of our Upper Cumberland community who have been affected by the ICE raids taking place.

Please help if you can during these difficult times for our fellow community members.

Thanks to our community, our most recent members' meeting filled the steering committee positions we were looking for. The real work is just starting, and we’re currently looking for more community members to join us.

We’re always happy to receive new membership petitions from those interested in becoming a voting member of Indivisible Upper Cumberland. If you're interested, you can fill out this form on our website (https://sites.google.com/view/indivisible-upper-cumberland/about-us/join-us)

And if you're not yet sure about being a voting member, there are lots of other ways to help us support the community! If you're interested in having focused discussions and being part of the resulting initiatives, there are several committees which would love your help!

The Civic Action Committee aims to keep people informed, educated, and encouraged in regards to political actions that they can participate in. They're looking to lead people in taking civic actions, plan peaceful acts of protest, and more! They're looking for people with an interest in civic action, organizational skills, and making a difference no matter how small.

If you're more of a numbers person, we need those too! The Financial and Fundraising Committee is responsible for setting the financial policies of the organization and developing fundraising opportunities. Training and support are available for anyone interested in the financial side of the organization.

The Events Committee is where ideas turn into real community impact. You’ll help shape how we show up, connect with people, and grow our presence across the Upper Cumberland. Whether you have a lot of time or just want to help out at events, there’s a place for you here.

The Membership Committee is seeking volunteers to support efforts to recruit new members, welcome and onboard those who join, and keep current members engaged. This work may include drafting communications for both prospective and existing members, gathering feedback to better understand member needs, and helping plan social or community-building activities.

You can learn more about each of these committees on our website (the interest form is there, too)!

We are proud of everyone who has shown up thus far to protest the special session called by Governor Bill Lee to remove the last Democratic District within the state.

It's not too late to make YOUR voice heard, too. Indivisible Tennessee. The Equity Alliance, Memphis NAACP, Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition [TIRRC], and many other organizations are arranging actions you can take regardless of whether you attend in person or take action from afar.
