October is National Co-op Month!

Across Tennessee, cooperatives are woven into both agriculture and rural life. From farm supply and credit to electricity, insurance, marketing and community support, co-ops help make it possible for farmers, families and rural communities to keep moving forward.

They also make so many Tennessee FFA experiences possible. We are grateful for partners like Farm Credit Mid-America, Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, local Co-ops, the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation, CoBank, local electric cooperatives and many other cooperative leaders who invest in agricultural education and Tennessee FFA members.

Thank you to the cooperatives who continue to support Tennessee FFA members, chapters and communities across our state. Happy National Co-op Month!

Congratulations to Tennemo Rice Family Farm & Mill on being named the 2026 Coolest Thing Made in Tennessee!

The Tennessee FFA State Stars had the opportunity to visit Tennemo Rice during the State Star Tour in June, and it was such a special stop. Tennemo Rice is Tennessee’s only rice farm and mill, located along the Mississippi River, where their family oversees every step from planting to milling.

John Schultz, one of Tennemo Rice’s co-owners, is also a former Tennessee FFA State Officer who served as the 2009-2010 West Tennessee Vice President.

What an incredible example of Tennessee agriculture, FFA alumni leadership, and a family business doing something truly unique for our state. Congratulations, Tennemo Rice!

A few of the places and faces that made this year’s Tennessee FFA Future Farmer Conference one to remember!

Selected through a competitive statewide application process, these students are already actively engaged in production agriculture and have demonstrated a clear intention to continue pursuing it beyond their time in FFA. Over four days, they visited farms and agribusinesses, gathered practical ideas for their own operations and connected with producers and professionals who share their passion for agriculture.

The Tennessee FFA Foundation is proud to partner with Farm Credit Mid-America to make meaningful programs like this possible for Tennessee’s young farmers! 💙💛
