Organized by a small group of East TN families in 1983, Alzheimer's Tennessee, Inc. HOW WE CAN HELP:

continues to be lead by a local, volunteer board of directors focused on supporting research and families facing Alzheimer's across Tennessee. The impact on people with
Alzheimer’s and their families and friends
can be overwhelming. We offer a variety of
free programs, services, and resource
information to help you cope with all
aspects of the disease and its progression. The following list includes some of the resources
and services provided by Alzheimer's Tennessee, Inc.:

-Education, Support, & Training for Family & Professional Caregivers/Care Partners

ABOUT ALZHEIMER'S:
Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part
of aging. It is a progressive disease of the
brain for which there is currently no cure. It is not uncommon to lose or forget things
every now and then. But, if memory
problems get in the way of every day living,
it may be time to call us for more
information or to see a doctor. There are more than 5.4 million Americans
with Alzheimer’s today. For every person
with the disease, another four are touched
by it as family members, friends, or caregivers. One in ten people age 65+
and almost half of those age 85+ have
Alzheimer’s disease. HOW YOU CAN INVEST IN ALZHEIMER'S IN TN:

Volunteer Your Time
Our volunteers who offer office support, help
with community outreach, assist with support
groups, and serve on committees are essential! WALK to STOP Alzheimer’s with us! Help build community awareness, raise funds
for local programs, and have fun! Sign up
and bring your friends, family & co-workers! Become an Advocate
Be a voice for people with Alzheimer’s disease. Assist our local Public Policy efforts
by helping to identify needs, writing letters,
providing testimony and/or making phone calls. Contribute to our Local Services:
Your gift helps make a difference for families living
with Alzheimer’s disease
and other dementias.

Saturday is shaping up to be a great walk day. Come early and bring your pets. We are having a pet parade as the very first event for the walk at 10:00 am. Pets must be on a leash. Costumes are optional. P.S. Paws Pet Bakery will be judging the pets and will provide a gift certificate to the winning pet. Show off your favorite fur baby!

Make your plans to join us Saturday October 24 at 10:00 am at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 565 E. 10th St in Cookeville for the Walk to Make Alzheimer's Memory, Cumberlands. We have games, entertainment, prizes, pets, and a generally fun morning planned. We are especially excited for the Cookeville High School Marching Band joining us to perform and lead the walk. It is a great opportunity to see the wonderful new band uniforms that they have just acquired. Stay tuned for more updates on happenings at the walk.

Come out to this car show October 17. It is always a great event.

🚗💨 Mark you calendars, and join us for our Annual Car Show benefiting Alzheimer's Tennessee, Inc. on Saturday, October 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 💜

🛞🛻 We will have the car show, a food truck, a bake sale, a 50/50 raffle, and live music! 🎶

🏆 Categories include:

* Best Classic Car (After 1965)
* Best Antique Car (Before 1965)
* Best Truck
* Best Restored Vehicle
There is an entry fee of $20

Pizza and Bingo! The first fundraiser in May in Crossville was so much fun that we are doing another one October 8. Come out and grab your pizza for a meal and play some bingo.
