ABOUT ALZHEIMER'S:
Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part
of aging. It is a progressive disease of the
brain for which there is currently no cure. It is not uncommon to lose or forget things
every now and then. But, if memory
problems get in the way of every day living,
it may be time to call us for more
information or to see a doctor. There are more than 5.4 million Americans
with Alzheimer’s today. For every person
with the disease, another four are touched
by it as family members, friends, or caregivers. One in ten people age 65+
and almost half of those age 85+ have
Alzheimer’s disease. HOW YOU CAN INVEST IN ALZHEIMER'S IN TN:

Volunteer Your Time
Our volunteers who offer office support, help
with community outreach, assist with support
groups, and serve on committees are essential! WALK to STOP Alzheimer’s with us! Help build community awareness, raise funds
for local programs, and have fun! Sign up
and bring your friends, family & co-workers! Become an Advocate
Be a voice for people with Alzheimer’s disease. Assist our local Public Policy efforts
by helping to identify needs, writing letters,
providing testimony and/or making phone calls. Contribute to our Local Services:
Your gift helps make a difference for families living
with Alzheimer’s disease
and other dementias.

-Your donation can be
designated toward one
or more of our local
programs.

-Celebrate someone’s
life with a tribute gift,
or remember someone
dear to you with a
memorial gift.

Are you looking for answers to the challenges of caregiving? You are not alone. Our FREE Caring and Coping Workshops have helped many caregivers feel more knowledgeable, supported, and empowered. Register at www.alzTennessee.org/workshops

Join us for our next workshop in Cookeville on Tuesday, August 4, at Life Church The Edge Building. Along with practical strategies and emotional support for caregivers, you’ll also get expert legal guidance on navigating the legal complexities that come with aging. Plus, medical professionals will be on hand to offer advice on health and wellness—including how to recognize the difference between normal aging and signs of cognitive impairment, and when you can confidently say, “No, that’s just normal.”

Everyone is welcome—bring a friend and take the first step toward peace of mind and a stronger support network.
