Stepping Over the Threshold Plumbline by Bob Mumford

Transition is different than change. Since the reformation, churches have gone through many changes, but their essential form and nature have stayed the same. I believe we now stand at a threshold, a transition. We are going to be faced with changes that cannot be avoided. They will demand critical decisions and spiritual maturity. How do we prepare? How must we adapt as we stand at this threshold? How will we know the difference between needed changes and biblical compromise?

Being birthed into a new perspective is not easy, but it is essential if we are to grow and embrace the future with strength and clarity. The pain and pressure cause us to re-examine our foundational belief systems. We must be willing to let go of that which is passing away while we embrace the new threshold. Will we embrace that is more organic and relational? Will we embrace a Kingdom that more adequately expresses Father’s purposes in the earth?

Father's Inheritance with Bob Mumford and Mark Duggin

As the people of God our focus on God's redemptive work has been primarily about humanity. As a result, the foremost themes have been about our failures, our salvation, our forgiveness, our inheritance, and our place in the millennium. The biblical foundation is solid; it is the story presented throughout scripture. But are we missing something?

There is another emphasis that flows, almost between the lines of Scripture and history, waiting to be discovered. It is my personal and prophetic sense that we are progressing into a different age. Father is going to be revealed in a manner that still retains mystery but points toward His receiving His fill inheritance. Through Christ, we are invited to participate in this relational intimacy.

We receive Christ out of personal need, inner hunger not fully identified, and ultimately, with the awareness that things must change in our lives and futures. The concept of conscious Fatherhood has enabled me to abide for more than 60 years. It is foundational, life changing, and will hold you steady in the most complex and difficult of circumstances. Understanding Spiritual Distance video by Bob Mumford

Bob shares his insight on distance from God, people, and his family and the ways in which that distance can occur in our lives.

The moment offense comes, distance happens. How do we eliminate the distance between ourselves and God as well as ourselves and other people. How can we bring reconciliation?

Christ removed ALL distance between us and the Father. The cause of distance is almost always some kind of failure or suspicion that causes a wedge in our relationships. When we fail or make mistakes, Father grieves, but He uses that distance to allow healing, correction, and adjustment. Likewise, we use this distance to alert our loved ones that something is wrong.

Some distance is important and can be manipulated to help our relationships. Oneness (as written about in John 17:21-26) is the absence of distance. Bob urges us to work on this goal of oneness and try to perceive any distances and their causes. Father, help us to have courage to identify the distance, small or great, that keeps us from being one. The moment we find oneness, joy starts to come, and we find out what life is all about.

What we believe about the purposes of God governs how we see and respond to the future. It is clear from the New Testament that we have been given the authority and the power to carry the message and mission of Jesus into all the world. The work of the cross was to bring Heaven and Earth back together.

The incarnation of Christ in us is the goodness of the Kingdom manifesting through us. It is intentional. It is normal. This is how the Kingdom works. We need to be about the business of bringing heaven back to earth.
