PEP Foundation The PEP Foundation is a non-profit supporting the Putnam County School System and it’s students. These needs range from housing assistance to lice kits.

The Putnam Education Partnership Foundation exists to meet needs within the Putnam County School System (TN) that fall outside the allotted budget and federal funding. In partnership with our donors and volunteers, we facilitate the well-known Backpack Program, which provides food to over 600 students in the PCSS on the weekends. We also work diligently to meet other needs of students and their families, so that students can show up to school ready to learn. We also work to meet other needs of the District and support our school system to reach its goals. We need people like you to join our mission, visit our website and learn how to get involved.

🐶📚 Reading you can taste! 📚🐶

This Fall Break, the PEP Foundation was proud to fund a delicious literacy project at LEAPS Camp!Campers read Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo, and when the characters threw a party at the end of the book, these students did too.

Campers followed the steps to make egg salad or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, just like in the story, and then read and follow a recipe to mix up their own party punch. 🥪🍹

This was a fun way to bring a beloved book to life while practicing real-world reading skills like following directions and sequencing steps.

🦉ELA Scholars welcome their new class mascots, thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Cookeville! 🦉

Our local Kiwanis Club is constantly Investing in our local school community and local children. The Cookeville Club recently provided school mascot puppets as welcome to your new school gift for each classroom at Early Learning Academy!

The puppet’s were selected to be provided as positive behavior tools for each class and to inspire imagination! And of course the owl🦉 was chosen with the school mascot in mind. The Puppets were hand delivered to the ELA classroom’s today, and student’s were asked to support their teacher in selecting a name for their new class friend! Student’s also learned their new friend was nocturnal, and might need to sleep sometime during the day sometimes😉.

The students (and teachers) were so excited to have their new mascot- I think the faces in the photos say it all! We cannot wait to hear what names they came up with!

Thank you Kiwanis for your continued support to local teachers and students in the most meaningful ways! We are so thankful!

📚🚌PCSS’s WOW Bus sponsored by First National Bank of TN was a huge hit at Fall Fun Fest! 📚🚌

Grace and Katelyn spent a few hours on Saturday supporting Lois, a real life literacy super hero. Lois is the one who makes sure the WOW Bus gets where is going and that every child who makes it on the Bus feels welcome!

Lois pulled long shifts in the heat, and with a smile on her face the whole time. So many children and families were served this weekend, leaving smiling with books in hand 📚🚌

💙❤️Cookson rallys local support for Pay it Forward 9/11 💙❤️

We love when student serve others! Jacob Cookson, a Cookeville High School Senior, chose the PEP Foundation as a recipient of one of his Pay it Forward 9/11 Inc. donations!

This week Jacob is inspiring others to engage in random acts of kindness all over our community as part of the Pay it Forward initative inspired by the generosity of Canadians on 9/11!

Thank you Jacob for being an inspiration and for your hard work!
