Hello early childhood educators. When moving children to a safe place in the event of an emergency, transition activities that they have known and practiced will help the children feel more safe and calm. Check out these transition activities. Practice quiet transition activities often, so that if an unfortunate event occurs, the song/activity is familiar to the children.

The training will include an ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) segment, designed to help us be prepared for an active shooter.

Here is a picture of our Children in Disasters: The Upper Cumberland Project planning group from maybe 2010 or 2011? We accomplished all our goals. In 2018, we continue to meet to keep our children safe, healthy, and nurtured in the event of disaster.

Children in Disasters: The Upper Cumberland Project has received a $500 grant from the Upper Cumberland Council on Children and Youth! Thank you for helping us make sure area children are well-cared for in the event of a disaster and that their caregivers are well-trained and prepared. PS - Picture of presentation coming soon?
