Fraternal Order of Police Cordell Hull Lodge 10 Meeting Recap – May 19, 2026

Thank you to everyone who attended our May lodge meeting and helped make it a great evening of fellowship and information sharing.

We were proud to welcome Cody Scott as our newest lodge member. Cody was officially sworn in by State Vice President Shane Trew. Congratulations and welcome to the FOP family!

We also welcomed two guest speakers:

Jon Henry, candidate for U.S. Congress, addressed the membership and shared information regarding his candidacy and vision for the future. https://henryforcongress.com/

Shane Trew, State FOP Vice President, spoke with members about current FOP initiatives and provided updates on the upcoming State FOP Meeting in June.

Community Announcement:
A campaign kickoff event for lodge member Eddie Farris for Sheriff will be held on June 4 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Cookeville Community Center, 240 Carlen Dr., Cookeville, TN.

All are invited to attend. Food and drinks will be provided, and there will be live music from a band. We hope to see you there!

The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Cordell Hull Lodge 10 is proud to announce its formal endorsement of Ken Matheney for the Putnam County Commission. As a dedicated resident of Cookeville and a longtime member of our lodge, Ken has consistently demonstrated the integrity, courage, and leadership required to serve our community effectively.

Ken’s commitment to public service began with his distinguished career in the United States Army. Serving as a Military Police Officer, Ken exemplified the highest standards of the profession. His extraordinary heroism is evidenced by his receipt of the Soldier’s Medal for Bravery, the Army’s highest award for bravery during peacetime.

Even after his retirement from active service, Ken’s dedication to the safety of our neighbors never wavered. He continued his mission to protect and serve as a Reserve Deputy with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, providing invaluable support to our local law enforcement efforts. This firsthand experience with our county’s safety needs makes him uniquely qualified to represent our citizens.

Beyond his military and law enforcement background, Ken is a pillar of the Cookeville community. As a Master Mason in the Cookeville Masonic Lodge, he lives by the values of brotherly love, relief, and truth. He understands that a strong community is built on service to others and accountability.

Ken Matheney isn't just a candidate; he is a brother who has spent his life protecting and serving. We know Ken. We trust his judgment, we respect his history of valor, and we are confident that he will be a tireless advocate for the safety and prosperity of all Putnam County citizens.

Ken’s foundation for leadership began at Castle Heights Military Academy, where he graduated with the discipline and work ethic that have defined his life. As a dedicated resident of Monterey and a proud member of the FOP, he has spent a lifetime serving the public. He built a distinguished career in law enforcement, protecting and serving the citizens at the Monterey Police Department, the Cookeville Police Department, and the Chattanooga Police Department, where he ultimately retired.

Ken’s commitment to helping others didn't end with his retirement from policing. Today, he leads the Tennessee Disaster Response Team, deploying across the United States to assist communities in their darkest hours by clearing debris, removing downed trees, and conducting critical rescue operations.
