We are hosting our first formal meeting of the year! April 15th, 1pm, Lutsen Lutheran Church. Please RSVP by April 10th so our hostesses can prepare. We will have a business meeting and a program. Title: Bugging Out: A brief primer on plant-microbe interactions. Presented by Dr. Beverly Flood. She will provide an introduction into the importance of microbes to their plant hosts, including a window into cutting edge research on the plant microbiome. Reservations for community garden plots will be open 1 April. Weather permitting the garden will be open 15 April. Initial reservations will be for 1 plot. After 1 May, plot owners may reserve additional plots. Reservations, garden rules etc... can be found on the Tofte Township's website. Happy gardening!

What is a Garden chat? Those of us who are here in the winter get together to socialize. No business meeting or program. Sometimes we talk about seed ordering or garden questions. Sometimes we just catch up on each other's lives. Please come! It's a fun way to get to know each other in a smaller group. Feel free to bring catalogues, magazines and questions to share.

Surfside deli counter will have a couple kinds of sandwiches and some treats available. The kitchen will not be open so no hot food. Coffee and other beverages will be available.

Oops! We missed an important post. In November, we had a lovely luncheon at Cascade Lodge. Thanks Cascade! And we were delighted to have Alisa Burns, Taproot Landscaping, as our guest speaker. Alisa gave us a presentation about cut flowers. Sometimes, the idea of having a cut flower garden seems out of reach on the NS. But Alisa gave us some great ideas of flowers to try in our garden. Thanks Alisa!
