West Hazleton Lions Club

West Hazleton Lions Club The West Hazleton Lions Club was established in 1942 and takes pride in serving the Greater Hazleton region. New members are always welcomed.

Club meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of every month at Eli's Restaurant at 6:30pm.

The West Hazleton Lions presented a check for $2000.00 to the Borough Streets department during their meeting at Eli's Place. The funds will be used for the purchase of tree trimming equipment needed by the department for tree maintenance in the Borough.

Eligibility Requirements
1. Must be a graduating high school senior.

2. Student must be a resident of Banks Twp, Black Creek Twp, Conyngham, East Union, Hazle Township, North Union Twp, Sugarloaf or West Hazleton.

3. Student must be accepted to an Institute of Higher Education. (Must provide a copy of acceptance letter.)

4. Must be a good student. (Please provide a copy of most recent transcript.)

5. Awards will be given based on responses to the following questions (1 page or less typed):

● What are your plans for the future?

● What do you enjoy about living in the Hazleton Area?

● How would you “pay it forward” to provide opportunities to future graduates?

The West Hazleton Lions made a donation of $250 to the Shine Women's Center in West W
Hazleton.
The center provides confidential prenatal and postnatal counseling to women of all ages. Ultrasound services are also available, all at no charge to the clients. There is also a "Baby Boutique" where clients earn points for hours spent at the center to exchange for diapers, clothes and accessories.
