Meet Adam. 🤍 Disney Disney Parks

Adam is the inspiration behind A Theater For Me, a sensory friendly movie program created through LOVE 4 AUL.

Adam has profound autism and has loved movies and Disney his entire life. Some of our favorite memories are of experiencing Disney together as a family when he was younger.

But as Adam grew older and his needs changed, those experiences became harder. And now that he is an adult, we’ve seen firsthand how limited opportunities can become for individuals with autism after they age out of school.

Almost a year ago, our family nearly lost Adam after he suffered DKA due to his Type 1 diabetes.

After that experience, I knew I wanted to do more to help Adam and individuals like him experience more of life.

So we started with something Adam has always loved: movies. 🎬

Through workouts, fundraising, donations, and the incredible support of our community, A Theater For Me was created.

We have now completed our ninth sensory friendly movie experience, welcoming individuals with autism of ALL ages, children, teenagers, and adults. 🤍

But our dream doesn’t stop at the movie theater.

One day, we hope to create sensory friendly trips and experiences at places like Disney and Universal, giving individuals like Adam opportunities to experience the magic in ways that meet their needs.

Because autism doesn’t end when someone ages out of school at age 21.

Adults with autism deserve joy.
They deserve experiences.
They deserve community.
They deserve a full life.

Thank you SO much to everyone who joined us today for our LOVE 4 AUL sensory-friendly movie showing for individuals on the autism spectrum! 💙

We were so happy to see so many familiar faces and new families enjoying the movie together. Creating a space where individuals of all ages on the spectrum can enjoy the movie theater experience comfortably is exactly why we do what we do. 🧩🎬

We truly appreciate every family who comes out, supports our nonprofit, shares our events, and helps us continue growing A Theater For Me.

We loved spending our Saturday with you and can’t wait to see you all again real soon! 🐾💙🎥

This is a free event; however, there is a $7 refundable ticket deposit per person. Each attendee, whether the participant on the spectrum or a caregiver, will need their own ticket.

Once you’ve checked in at the event or canceled at least 48 hours beforehand, your deposit will be fully refunded within a few business days.

🍿 Snack options are available when reserving tickets (for individuals on the spectrum only).
