Lifetime Risk: About 1 in 8 women (13%) will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
Self Examines: Perform monthly self-exams in the shower, in front of a mirror, or lying down to check for changes
Family History Isn't Required: Most women who are diagnosed with breast cancer do not have a family history of the disease, meaning age and personal risk factors play a major role.
Men Can Get It Too: Although rare, accounting for less than 1% of all cases, men can also develop breast cancer
High Survival Rates for Early Detection: The overall 5-year relative survival rate is high at around 92%, and it jumps to over 99% when the cancer is caught at a localized stage before spreading
Have you scheduled your annual mammogram? If not, this is your reminder to take action.
