The youth ministry of Greater Love Fellowship

Tabernacle in Conyers, GA
Joshua’s Next Generation Youth is more than just a class—it’s a training ground for the next generation of kingdom leaders. We bring the Bible to life through creative ministry, using everything from liturgical dance and powerful plays to music, videos, and hands-on object lessons. Our mission is to move students from the sidelines to the front lines. We don't want them to just be "spectators"; we empower them to discover their unique talents, serve the local church, and bring glory to God by serving others.

Collecting is one of the simplest ways we build relationship with our kids. It’s not complicated.

To collect a child is to move toward them in a warm, friendly way— to gather their eyes, their ears, their attention or whatever works for them sensory wise — and to let them feel your interest in being with them.

We often talk about attachment as if it’s something complex to figure out.
But it is built in the small, ordinary moments of everyday life.
When we pause…
when we notice…
when we reflect…
when we invite connection…
we are saying something that matters deeply: You matter to me.

Collecting is how we warm up the relationship again and again— through the flow of the day. And when relationship is there, so much else becomes possible.

Parenting is about connection, not perfection.

We can be so hard on ourselves as parents—especially when we love deeply and want to get it right. But the truth is, we will fall short of our intentions. We will say things we regret. Our emotions will get the better of us. We will make mistakes.
And yet, nature never asked for perfection.

What matters is that we keep showing up—again and again—endeavouring to be the answer our children seek for closeness, contact, and togetherness.

Surely we can offer ourselves some grace when we fall short. Because it was never meant to be about getting it right all the time. It has always been about holding on to our kids. Preserving connection. Finding a way through the impasses between us.

We will feel guilt. We may feel shame.
But those feelings don’t mean we are failing.
They mean we are struggling to be the answer.

Parents have always struggled. Across time, across generations—this has never been easy. And yet nature, in her wisdom, did not require perfection for children to grow.
If she had, she would have made us perfect. Instead, she made room for learning, for
coming back together.

We tell our children it’s okay to make mistakes and begin again. We deserve that same kindness too.

One step at a time.
One mistake at a time.
We grow into being the answer they need.
