Today Michelle is reading this book to learn more about lithics. Dr. Trubitt is our Research Station Archeologist at our HSU Station in SW Arkansas and is an expert in lithics. Join us for the August meeting of the Ouachita Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society, when Laura Donaldson will present “Historical Mining on the Caddo and Womble Districts of the Ouachita National Forest” Tuesday, August 6th at 7:00 p.m. at Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (200 Whittington, Hot Springs). Note that we’ll be in the Rainey Room in the CIC building rather than the board room. The event is free and open to the public, so come and bring a friend!

The purpose of the Larry Halsey Archaeology Conference Award is to provide funding support for undergraduate students focused in archaeology to attend their first archaeology conference. Funds, up to $50 per applicant, are awarded to cover all or a portion of the conference registration fee.
