Arisa Health Central Region Therapeutic Foster Care Providing a therapeutic safe haven, a loving space, and a home: because this is what every child dese can help. But we can't do it without people like you.

A safe haven, a loving space, a home: this is what every child deserves. For children with needs that were not being met in their homes of origin or a previous foster home, this is particularly true, but sometimes, biological families just aren't able to provide the care and support these children need. That's where the Therapeutic Foster Care program of Counseling Associates, Inc. Drawing on the expertise of an interdisciplinary team, we train and support foster, respite, and adoptive families of children with behavioral and/or emotional problems that stem from their past experiences. Families participating in the program receive specialized training and general support, including group meetings, social work services, and respite care. We know some people may worry they don't have the right skills to be a therapeutic foster parent, but with our Therapeutic Foster Care team to support you, all you need is the capacity to love and care for a child. Through training, support groups, or the provision of respite care, our specialists are ready to help 24 hours a day. No matter how much time you have, you can help. Even if you don't think you're ready to become a foster parent, you can provide respite care for a day or a weekend or volunteer one day a week. All it takes is a little bit of your time to make a big difference in the lives of these children.
