Speak Up 2 Domestic Violence is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2015, by Tiffany Bray a resident of South Carolina, which is ranked number 2 in the USA for Domestic Violence cases. The idea came about when a local firefighter and dear friend lost his life due to a Domestic Violence relationship. The thought that he is not and won't be the last person to lose there life to soon becaus
e of Domestic Violence, hit pretty hard. After the loss locals have come together to help fight against Domestic Violence which struck the idea for a Domestic Violence Awareness Walk that is scheduled for September 20th, 2015 at Socastee High School in Socastee, South Carolina. We have many events that we are trying to get the community to get involved with to help raise money for the walk, such as: Bake Sales, Change Donation Jars, Poker Run, and Yard Sales. We also have a gofundme account for any personal donations. We started a that started in May, that has had 70+ people accept so far. Speak Up 2 Domestic Violence has full potential to be everything it stands for! We are hoping to open opportunities for victims and help them get away from the situations and start over, help them heal through a very emotional life changing event. Give them REAL protection, confidence, safety, the ability to move on and recover! With everyone on board and beside us 100% I believe we can make a serious difference and get help for the victims and the abusers. Abusers often come from Domestic Violence homes as a child, if they never received help, it could be the reason they are abusers today. Victims who come from Domestic Violence homes can be vulnerable to the abusers, and think that is how they are suppose to
be treated, if they did not receive help as a child.
