I am honored to have been called to assist at the border of Texas and Mexico offering holistic therapeutic services. While working and volunteering, I quickly discovered what is needed that I can help provide. Asylum seeker and new immigrant trauma support.
I did my qigong practice on the beach during the wolf moon lunar eclipse, and asked for a way to be of service? Recently, I have been upset with what is going on in our country as a result of mental illness. I was ready to be of service in a bigger way with Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy . I lowered my rates to be more accessible and to cast a wider net of transformation.
Directly following the eclipse, I received a series of dreams, clear signs and visions to move forward rapidly on this project. The message was clear that Casa de Paz SLV is bigger than me and is needed RIGHT NOW. If you haven’t been keeping up with the border crisis in the news, Trump is bringing attention to the border with the wall he wants to build. Truth be told, there is a border crisis. It’s a humanitarian and mental health crisis.
It is not that immigration is high. It is on the rise slightly, but has been pretty stable since 2000. The problem is that drug smugglers are switching their profession to human smuggling and trafficking. 📷Human smuggling and trafficking is a gruesome business. Many women are made into s*x slaves to pay their way across the border. They are usually fleeing domestic violence or s*x abuse. Men and women are often beaten badly by smugglers and border patrol. Men are usually fleeing gang violence due to political unrest.
Asylum seekers are encouraged to take children with them because they hear they are more likely to be granted asylum. Thousands of children were being separated at the border and lost. It has been revealed that appalling numbers of children in the detention centers, where they are housed until they are processed, are being s*xually abused by staff or other children. There is also a condition called “toxic stress”, which happens to children who are separated from their parents and confined in tight spaces. Children in detention centers are not allowed to be hugged. Toxic stress is found to cause permanent developmental damage.
(For articles from reputable sources on the asylum seekers journey and the inhumane way US government is handling it, please read my fb timeline).
As we welcome the asylum seekers into our country with love and support, let’s also offer them a way to heal emotionally.
Trauma, like gang violence and s*x abuse, can cause post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which is very debilitating. Symptoms of PTSD may include chronic pain, major depression, illness and involuntary responses due to flashbacks. Asylum seekers live with relatives or on their own and they need to get to work to get an apartment and support themselves.
Case de Paz SLV provides holistic trauma support retreats to asylum seekers and new immigrants. Our target population is families.
For now, we are operating as a scholarship fund. The money you donate will be used for outreach, supplies and to assist asylum seekers and new immigrants in getting to Crestone, Colorado and to help pay for their food and lodging while here. Retreats will be facilitated by myself (Gina Barrett, Volunteer Acting Director) and qualified volunteers.
We are networking with immigrant service organizations in the San Luis Valley of Colorado and throughout the country for referrals. If there is interest, we will become a non profit and possibly rent or build a guest house.
We are going to the Texas Mexico Border as a Volunteer Mission November 8 - 17, 2019. Help us shop for supplies for the mission at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/31B7TFK5QNWID?type=wishlist&filter=unpurchased&sort=priority
Please help us reach our funding goals for start up, providing services and building (or renting) a guest house. We also need ongoing annual funding. Your generosity and compassion for this cause is greatly appreciated.

Asylum seekers and new immigrants are being sponsored throughout the US in large numbers right now or are waiting at the border for their court hearings. Your immediate and ongoing financial support is appreciated.
One practice I learned early on in my work as a life coach was to tithe. Tithing is to give generously to those who inspire you and causes you are passionate about. It’s often best to choose one or just a few causes and give generously to them, so they thrive. 10% of your income is recommended. The number 10 has power in it. It is found that those who tithe experience abundance and more ease.
It also burns old karma to give. When we give, we receive more abundance and joy in our lives.
Many find that service is the key to happiness. There will be many volunteer opportunities. Let us know if you are interested and we will contact you once we are working in the community more consistently and when the center opens. 📷
One way you can help is by sharing this crowdfunding campaign with your mailing list and on social media.
Thank you SO much for your generous support.
