Congressman Hill is organizing what he hopes will be one of the largest America 250 military celebrations in Arkansas on July 7 at 10:00 a.m. in the Arkansas State Capitol Rotunda. Governor Sanders has confirmed her attendance, and invitations have been extended to Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, VA Deputy Secretary Paul Lawrence, and representatives of the Arkansas National Guard.

In addition to celebrating America's 250th anniversary, the event will honor Medal of Honor recipient and former Arkansas Lieutenant Governor Maurice "Footsie" Britt. Members of the Britt family will be present as a bust of Footsie Britt is unveiled in the Rotunda, where it will remain as part of the Capitol's permanent collection.

Congressman Hill's office is also hoping to have veterans' organizations from across Arkansas in attendance, along with Veteran Service Officers representing all 75 counties.
