Hear Ye, Hear Ye! On our 50th anniversary, Friendship Medical Clinic & Pharmacy, also known through its history as Friendship House, Neighborhood House, Community Volunteer Services and Community Service Council wants to celebrate the early visionaries who recognized that there were persons within their community living in dire situations.

"A little child shall lead them...," is applicable to founder Charles Haynes, who let his 10th grade classmates at Myrtle Beach High School in creating the Community Service Council. Perhaps labeled idealistic but what they imagined came to fruition.
His younger sister Wendy had started Happy Club, a program for children.
Our celebration is Friday, February 12, 11:30 at the clinic: 1396 Hwy 544.
Dr. Charles C. Haynes, is attending.
High School premed students from the Academy of Science and Technology as well as students from the Academy of Technology and Academics will be in attendance.
Dr. Haynes is a senior scholar at the First Amendment Center in Washington, DC. He is best known for his work on First Amendment issues in public schools as well as religious freedom in public schools. Interestingly enough he has lived out the motto of Community Service Council: Brotherhood Through Service.
He is the author of 6 books and has a national column appearing in numerous newspapers. He has an abundance of published articles, appears on various news programs and is a public speaker.
He holds a master’s degree from Harvard Divinity School and a PhD from Emory University.
