These two girls are at the vet today, and they both have important appointments. 🐾💗

SHE. FINALLY. GOT. HER. MAURICE. 🎉

AND HE BROUGHT A $299.75 VET BILL. 😂💸

Remember that little stray puppy we posted looking for a foster? We named him Wesley.

Well… his foster mom has informed us that he is absolutely NOT a Wesley. 🤣

Apparently, he answers to Maurice.

And if you know Michelle, you know she has been trying to name a male dog Maurice since approximately 2023. 😂😂😂

So little Maurice officially became a Rescue Tails kiddo and got the whole “I’m a stray puppy and now I have a rescue” starter package at the vet; exam, vaccines, microchip, deworming, and all the other first-time stray puppy necessities.

💰 Maurice’s vet bill: $299.75

And then there’s Collette. ❤️

Our tiny, emaciated stray hound girl that we trapped is getting SPAYED THURSDAY! 🐶✂️

She has already been through enough, and now we’re working on getting this little girl all ready for the life she deserves.

AND THEN THERE’S LAINEY. 🐄❤️

Our adorable little moo cow girl is STILL in medical boarding at the vet. She had an X-ray done because of her coughing, and she needs to begin heartworm treatment. 🫀🪱

💉 Lainey is getting her FIRST heartworm injection this week.

And this girl isn’t done yet.

She will need TWO MORE injections 30 days after the first one, and injections alone are over $500. 😭

So right now we have:

🐶 Maurice — $299.75 vet bill
🐶 Collette — spay Thursday
🐄 Lainey — medical boarding + heartworm treatment + THREE injections

We love saving the ones nobody else wanted. We really do. 🥹

But the rescue bank account is currently screaming, “MA’AM, PLEASE.” 😂😭

Update! ADOPTED!!! 🎉

🐾 BO IS READY FOR HIS FOREVER FAMILY! 🐾

Meet Bo — a 6-month-old puppy with a huge personality packed into one adorable little body! 😂❤️

Bo is one of those puppies who just makes you smile. He’s sweet, silly, playful, and has SO much personality. His absolute best friend is his big, furry foster brother, and the two of them are basically a dynamic duo. 🐶🐶

Bo LOVES his people and is happiest when he’s right in the middle of whatever is happening. He’s playful when it’s time to play, snuggly when it’s time to relax, and always ready to make you laugh.

And the best part? Bo is READY. 🙌

✅ Microchipped
✅ Neutered
✅ Fostered & loved
⏳ Just waiting on his forever family!

He’s done the puppy stuff, he’s got the personality, and now he just needs someone to say, “Yep. That’s our dog.” 🥹❤️

🐾 Jewels’ story should have ended in tragedy. Instead, she’s getting her happily ever after. ❤️

At 7 years old, Jewels has already been through more than any dog ever should.

She was living alone in the woods when she survived a horrific animal attack. That’s when Rescue Tails stepped in. Jewels was taken to our vet, she was put under anesthesia so her wounds could be thoroughly cleaned and sutured, drains were placed to fight the infections, and she was urgently spayed after discovering she had pyometra.

And because apparently this girl hadn’t been through enough already… she was also heartworm positive. 😔

Jewels received all 3 injections for her heartworm treatment, and today?

✨ SHE. IS. HEALED. ✨

And this little girl is in a loving foster home where she is absolutely
LIVING. HER. BEST. LIFE. 🥹❤️

Despite everything she has endured, Jewels is one of the happiest, bubbliest, most resilient little dogs I’ve ever met. She doesn’t hold a grudge against the world. She just wants to love, play, cuddle, and be someone’s bestie.

Jewels:

🐱 Unsure about cats
🧸 LOVES toys — the more, the better!
📺 Enjoys watching TV with her people
❤️ Is an absolute professional snuggle bug
🏡 And is ready for a family to call her own

She has survived the woods, an attack, painful infections, surgery, pyometra, heartworm treatment… and through it ALL, she remained the sweetest little soul.

🐾 Meet Sasha — apparently asking for a walk is now grounds for eviction. 🤦‍♀️😂

Can you believe this sweet 13-year-old girl was adopted… and returned DAYS later because she barked to go for a walk, was told no, and then barked again?! 🙀

No lie. No exaggeration. That is literally what happened. 🤦‍♀️

And here’s the kicker: Sasha is actually a VERY quiet girl. She is NOT a barker. So apparently she used her voice twice and that was just too much to handle. 🙄😂

Dogs bark. Dogs like walks. Dogs communicate. THIS IS NOT A NEW CONCEPT.

And honestly, Sasha isn’t exactly out here training for a marathon. She’s 13 years old, it’s hot AF outside, and she’s not worried about hitting her daily step goal. 😂 She enjoys having a fenced-in yard and does not require daily walks. But if she asks to go for one, is it really that hard to oblige the old lady occasionally?

Sasha also LOVES:
☀️ Sunbathing
🪟 Laying on the back of the couch to watch the outside world
🐶 🐈‍⬛ Watching her foster siblings play
❤️ Cuddling with her human friends
🏡 Chilling in her fenced-in backyard

This is the kind of ridiculous s**t rescues deal with. A 13-year-old dog who deserves to spend her golden years spoiled rotten got returned because… she barked. 🙄

So let’s find Sasha someone who understands that dogs are, in fact, dogs. Someone who will love her quirks, listen when she has something to say, and give this sweet senior the soft landing she deserves. 🏡

Because she deserves so much better than being returned for being a dog. 🐶

Remember this lil guy?

🐾 Maurice is accepting applications for a full-time family. 🐾

At just 8/9 weeks old, Maurice has already mastered the important life skills: zoomies, toy destruction, snack supervision, and keeping up with his foster sister Maggie (a RT alumni)… who appears to be part dog, part Muppet, and possibly powered by chaos. 😂

Maurice is a happy little guy who loves life and is looking for humans willing to provide treats, belly rubs, and a lifetime supply of “Who’s a good boy?” comments.

He’s had his first vaccines, gets his booster this week, and will be neutered.

If your home is missing tiny paw prints, puppy antics, and a little bit of adorable nonsense, Maurice may be your guy! 🐾
