Many thanks to our club RI Foundation chair, Ian Cosh, and other club members, Bill DeVore and J.D. Gingerich, for presenting a very enlightening program on Rotary Foundation giving this morning!

Toward the end of the presentation, we were able to recognize Gabe Ferrer in-person (Paul Harris Fellow +1) and Ian Cosh via Zoom (Paul Harris Fellow +8) for their dedicated Rotary giving!

Director Dr. Chad Lairamore hosted Conway Morning Rotary Club for a tour of the Community Care Clinic at UCA this morning. Dr. Nancy Reese, Dean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences at UCA (and member of Conway Morning Rotary) joined Dr. Lairamore as co-host.

The Community Care Clinic is a teaching clinic and offers a comprehensive array of healthcare solutions for the Conway area community.

Sometimes helping a neighbor starts with a handful of quarters at the laundromat.

Morrilton Rotary's Wash Night pairs free laundry with meals, conversation and time together. Conway Morning Rotary delivers dictionaries and sends birthday cards to children in foster care. Conway Noon Rotary supports students and helps keep neighbors fed.

Three clubs have found very personal ways to put “Service Above Self” to work. Their stories might give you a few ideas of your own.

Today we welcomed Jerry Adams and Natalie Larrison from the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF) to give us an update on their efforts in Syria helping with the rebuilding efforts there, including support for the Wisdom House Kindergarten, Women’s Center, Tomorrow’s Dawn High School for Girls and Letters of Hope initiative. SETF is committed to amplifying Syrian voices and building partnerships to create stability, opportunity and hope in Syria’s next chapter.

This week we had a wonderful and insightful program on the Arkansas chapter of Hands and Voices (https:/arkansashandsandvoices.org) presented by Mandy Jay, educator and mother of three daughters, two of whom have hearing loss.

Small world! Mandy recognized that one of our club members (Ian Cosh) is the father of one of her close professional associates who is a Doctor of Audiology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Little Rock!

This Patriot Day, we pause to remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost and honor the unmatched courage of our first responders, service members, and everyday heroes who ran toward danger to save others.
