The Nabholz CEO Luncheon Series is a quarterly gathering that brings our business community together to connect, network, and hear timely conversations about issues impacting our city and region.

We were glad to kick off the 2026 series with Randy Zook, President and CEO of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/Associated Industries of Arkansas. He shared insights on Arkansas’ continued economic growth and offered a reminder of how strongly the state is performing compared to others.

For our second luncheon of the year, we welcomed Jay Brogdon, President and CEO of Simmons First National Corporation and Simmons Bank. He spoke about the value of local banking and the role it plays in supporting businesses in our community, and attendees enjoyed both his insights and the humor he brought to the presentation.

We’re looking forward to the remainder of the 2026 series and the continued opportunity to bring leaders together for meaningful conversation and connection.

Our Government Affairs Underwriters met yesterday to hear from the leadership of the Arkansas Insurance Department. Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Jimmy Harris and Deputy Director Daniel Holland gave special insight into the depth, breadth, and influence of this state agency that touches the bottom line of every business and household in Arkansas.

Perhaps the most useful piece of advice for our members: if your business has a claim and the outcome is anything less than what you expected from your coverage do not hesitate to reach out to the Insurance Department FIRST. Their staff can save you and your business precious time and legal fees.

😀 After years of startling increases, property and casualty rates are beginning to behave normally or even decrease in some cases

😀 Arkansas is one of the best states for workers comp rates. They are continuing to decrease

🤷‍♂️ Pharmacy Benefits Managers (PBMs) are still incredibly complicated

Commissioner Harris and his team deserve a big thank you from every Arkansan who benefits from their service and advocacy.

In 2026, CARTI is marking two meaningful milestones. It has been 50 years since the organization was founded in 1976, and 30 years since CARTI first established a presence in Conway in 1996. Those anniversaries are worth celebrating, and they also invite a look at what this steady presence has meant for patients, families and the community over time. In Conway, that history can be seen in the practical ways care has become easier to reach and easier to navigate.

CARTI was founded with a clear purpose: to ensure Arkansans could receive advanced cancer care without leaving the state. That commitment still guides the organization today. CARTI’s mission is to make trusted cancer care accessible for every patient it serves through compassion, innovation and purpose. In Conway, that mission has taken shape across three decades through steady growth, expanded services and a long-term investment in meeting people where they are.

When CARTI first opened in Conway in 1996, it brought radiation oncology closer to patients in Faulkner County and surrounding communities. For many families, that changed the rhythm of care in immediate ways. By reducing the need to travel long distances for scheduled treatments, it gave more time for the things that matter most. It lessened strain on caregivers, made work and school schedules more manageable and allowed patients to remain closer to the people and routines that give them comfort.

Read more about CARTI in the cover story of our latest issue of Pulse of Conway:

It has been 50 years since the organization was founded in 1976, and 30 years since CARTI first established a presence in Conway in 1996.

Conway has added nearly 8,000 residents since 2020, making it the 76th fastest-growing city in the nation among those of at least 50,000, according to new U.S. Census Bureau estimates.

The city posted a five-year growth rate of 12.38%.

Between 2024 and 2025, Conway grew 1.69%, ranking No. 98 among the fastest-growing cities in the country. It is now the 539th largest city in the United States, placing it just ahead of Mount Vernon, New York, a New York City suburb, and Commerce City, Colorado, a Denver suburb.

Conway's growth is also fueling expansion in smaller Faulkner County communities. Last year, Greenbrier grew 4.7%, Vilonia 4.4%, and Wooster 3.4%.
