SAU9 Food Service Program During Emergency Closure
PLANS
March 16, 2020
This is an overview that describes how we are going to run our food service
program during this emergency closure. Please note, as with everything
else right now, information is changing daily. This process is likely to
evolve over the coming days and weeks. All information will be posted at
www.sau9.org.
● We will provide each student with access to breakfast and lunch
every school day. The program regulations also allow for all children
18 years of age or younger to receive meals, even if they are not
enrolled in a SAU9 school.
● All meals will be provided free of charge.
● Most buses will leave KHS at 10:30am. They will deliver meals in
Conway, Albany, and Eaton. SAU13 will be sending buses to provide
meals for students in Madison, Freedom and Tamworth. Buses will
leave JBES to begin delivering to students in Jackson and Bartlett at
11:00am.
● Each bus will focus on a specific geographic area and will stop at
designated locations, which will generally correspond to existing bus
stops. The schedule is posted on the SAU9 website (www.sau9.org).
It provides an idea as to when the bus will arrive at the different
stops. We cannot predict exactly how long this will take, so flexibility
is required. Updates to this schedule will be made to increase
accuracy.
● Meals will also be available for pick up at each individual school. We
anticipate they will be available between 11:15am and 12:00pm.
Parents/children picking up meals at school will do so at the front
door of the buildings, but will not be allowed inside.
