Chicktime San Antonio

Chicktime San Antonio We help passionate women set up groups in their areas, pursue their passions, serve others, connect w Each Chicktime chapter partners with local charities.

A typical Chicktime chapter consists of a minimum of 12 core chicks, one for each month (based on the “bunco concept!”) Most chapters grow to 100+ members! Each chick identifies her gift – something she loves to do – and shares it with other chicks and the charities her chapter serves in order to encourage all involved to identify and develop their gifts and use them to help others! If you are not

the leader that month, as a volunteer, you just show up to assist the leader and love on the children your charity serves – guilt-free serving! The idea is to expose the next generation to a wide array of gifts and talents so that they can look inside themselves and identify their own.

I wanted to share a weekday opportunity for anyone reading this that just can’t make it to one of our workshops on a Saturday! Our chapter is all about promoting other Chicktime chapters and especially our local ones where we can share volunteers!
Chicktime San Antonio Eastside is still very much in the figuring out stage.
We attempted to establish it last year but there was just lots of kinks to work out but we just have a heart to support this center…
So here we are again!
Check out their latest write up and pictures and the most recent invite for their April event. If you feel compelled reach out to the number on the invite and tell Lori I sent you!!
Much love,
Donnette

🩷🩷Choosing life in some instances takes immense courage and Chicktime SA Eastside exists to prop up the young moms and share their JOY.

We all have thoughts and opinions and the leadership team for our chapter believes in kindness and putting action to our thoughts and words. And so we bake. And so we collect sweet decor. And so we collect $$ to provide a nice lunch. We show up for the moms choosing life to let them see our smiles and hear how much we value them.

And sometimes just showing up with a plate of fresh baked cookies and Easter Themed paper plates for lunch is enough. We realize we can't do everything but we are convinced we can do something to make a difference.

There is a little story circling around about a boy walking along a beach tossing starfish washed up on shore back in to the ocean. An older man walked up and pointed across the vast beach to thousands of starfish laying ahead and told the boy surely he realized he isn't going to make a difference because he can't possible reach all of them before it is too late. The boy looked at the man, bent down, and tossed another starfish back into the ocean and said, 'Well it made a difference to that one!'

We would love for you to join us and share your smile! And if you would like to bake something to share for an upcoming lunch please reach out to [email protected] or 830-708-4254.

The budget is around $125 for each monthly lunch and we are happy to accept your contribution if you would like to help but are unable to make it in person! No amount is too small.

Chicktime San Antonio gathered this evening around dinner tables instead of our usual Saturday workshop. With spring break falling differently for the girls at Boysville Children’s Home—and so many fun activities filling their schedules—we chose not to cancel, but to simply change the rhythm of how we showed up.
So we did what Chicktime has always done best… we came to the table.
Thanks to the generosity of Chicktime supporters who faithfully give so moments like this can happen, we were able to host a catered dinner and an evening of intentional conversation. The tables were dressed in spring and Easter colors, bunny plates and cheerful centerpieces scattered about—simple touches meant to say to every girl who walked in: you matter, and tonight was prepared with you in mind.
Dinner was a full pasta feast—deep dish pizza, chicken alfredo fettuccine (with and without broccoli), spaghetti and meatballs, Caesar and house salads, and warm garlic knots. And because Chicktime ladies never stop at “enough,” co-leader Annette Goodson topped the night off with brownie cupcakes crowned with cookies-and-cream, sea salt caramel with chocolate drizzle, and chocolate buttercream with sprinkles. Strawberry lemonade was the drink of choice.
But the real sweetness of the night happened around the table.
We played “Pass the Basket,” where each girl pulled a question, read it aloud, and shared her answer before passing the basket along. Questions ranged from dreaming big—
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
—to lighthearted fun like guessing who in the group might survive a zombie apocalypse or go viral on social media.
There was laughter.
There was listening.
There was encouragement.
We prayed before the meal, worship music hummed quietly in the background, and for a little while the girls simply got to sit, talk, and be seen.
Before the night ended, each girl received a small spring break and Easter gift bag—candy, lip gloss, a face mask, and a Sonic gift card. Just another small way of saying what Chicktime has always believed: every girl deserves to feel special, safe, and deeply loved.
This is why Chicktime exists. Not for grand stages or big programs, but for moments like this—tables set with intention, conversations that remind a girl she is worth hearing, and hearts willing to show up again and again.
"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
—Matthew 25:40
And tonight, around a simple dinner table, we saw just how sacred that calling can be.

Hey Chicktime San Antonio Volunteers! 💗
We’ve got a little March schedule switch-up! Since our usual Saturday falls right in the middle of the campus spring break weeks, we decided not to cancel — just to mix it up!
We’re catering dinner, kicking things off with a fun icebreaker, and making space for sweet fellowship together. We’d love to see you there — let us know if you can join us! 💕

Chicktime San Antonio’s February workshop was absolutely scrumptious in every way!
Our longtime Chicktime volunteer, Kelly, has been leading our February workshop for more years than we can count — we’re pretty sure it’s been way over 10! Her passion is cooking, so naturally our theme was “Cooking with Kelly-
And she did not disappoint.
Kelly threw the most incredible pizza party for the girls at Boysville Children’s Home. They didn’t just top pizzas — they made them from scratch! From watching the yeast rise, to rolling out dough into (mostly 😉) perfect circles, to layering homemade sauce, Italian sausage, hamburger, red onion, bell pepper, pepperoni, and lots of cheese — it was hands-on, flour-covered, joy-filled fun.
But what made the day truly beautiful wasn’t just the pizza.
It was the conversations.
The kitchen talk while making pizzas we shared favorite foods, sweet stories and around the table while eating our pizza we had tender, honest moments.
There is something sacred about breaking bread together — especially when you made it with your own hands. You can see it in the girls’ faces… how intentional time, laughter, and consistency speak louder than we realize.
And before we even took a bite, it was the girls who reminded us that we needed to pray. So instead of closing in prayer, we paused right there — blessing the food, praying over the girls, the volunteers, and Boysville. We are so grateful for our sweet volunteer , Geneva, who loves to lead us boldly in prayer.
In a world that feels loud and chaotic, we can tell you this: for a few sacred hours once a month, we feel His goodness. We see His faithfulness. We know that showing up matters.
We hope you’ll join us one month soon. There is a seat at the table waiting for you.
“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.” — Psalm 34:8

Much love ,
Donnette ( Annette and Letty too)!

Chicktime San Antonio had the privilege of attending the Boysville Children’s Home Annual Christmas Pageant, beautifully presented by the children with the loving support of the staff. The pageant shared the Christmas story in a powerful way—including the testimony of a non-believer who became a believer through the courage of one person willing to tell him about the birth of Jesus. How convicting and inspiring for all of us to be bold in sharing our faith!
Following the pageant, Christmas gift sponsors were invited to visit the cottages they supported. Chicktime San Antonio proudly sponsored the two cottages where the girls who attend our monthly workshops live. We were warmly welcomed into their “home” and enjoyed a Christmas party with the girls and their house parents. The girls graciously hosted us as we shared tamales, chips and queso, cocktail wieners, fruit, a veggie and cheese platter, and cookies for dessert.
We enjoyed meaningful conversation about our favorite Christmas movies, played a name game, prayed together, and intentionally looked each girl in the eyes to tell her how beautiful, worthy, and deeply loved she is.
After refreshments, we gathered in the living room to open Christmas gifts. We began by handing out cards addressed to each girl. When they opened them together, the room filled with excitement and awe as they realized each card contained a crisp $100 bill! Some even asked if it was real—such a priceless moment of joy!
Next, the girls opened their individual pink and black tote bags filled with thoughtful gifts: blankets, crafts, makeup brushes, lip gloss, face masks, LED lights, fuzzy socks, a devotional, bath and body works, a crochet beanie, a book, and a Chicktime luggage tag for their new bags. The room overflowed with love and joy as the girls shared their excitement over each item—and their upcoming shopping sprees, wherever they choose to go!
We ended our time by praying over the house parents, asking God to protect them and give them strength as they carry out their God-given assignment to love these girls and provide a safe place to call home. The house parents were also gifted bath and body products as a small way to honor them and acknowledge the incredibly hard and important work they do.
Thank you once again to everyone who donated toward these gifts, attended or led a workshop in 2025 and faithfully prayed for the Chicktime mission. We truly could not love like this without you.
Thank you Anna, Betty and Diane for coming today and celebrating the Christmas season with the girls and us!

All-
We have wonderful workshops planned for 2026 and would love to see you join us one month!
