We’re looking for volunteers! 👀

We are still looking for volunteers for the 26-27 school year. The specific days are Tuesday and Friday, but we can always have extra help for every other day! Our volunteers love Jesus, are actively involved in the local church, and are passionate about the next generation!

If you would like to be a classroom helper or van driver, please go to our website lifewise.org/continentaloh and hit “Join the Team”. You’ll look for the “Volunteer” or “Volunteer Driver” application!

Our volunteers agree, it’s a time you do not want to miss. You’re there for the kids, but the kids definitely minister to you! You get to sit under these lessons and grow in your own walk, too! Join us for a couple hours a week, you will not regret it!

No, while LifeWise is held during the school day, it does not interfere with students’ mandatory courses. The class schedule is set by school personnel in consultation with LifeWise representatives. Classes are held during non-core academic periods, such as during lunch or electives.

Now Announcing: The Middle School & High School Teachers 📣

This year, we will have two teachers rotating in the MS/HS classes: Mr. Cody and Miss Brooke!
The middle school will get a whole Bible overview and the high school will study the book of Proverbs.

Mr. Cody was a part of the team to bring LifeWise to Continental 5 years ago. His favorite Bible passage is 1 Peter 1:5, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have”. He believes this verse sums up our mission as believers in Jesus!

Miss Brooke was the program director the first 4 years and now serves as the assistant director for LifeWise in Continental. Her favorite Bible verse is John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

LifeWise is open for every student in the MS/HS building! They will meet for class on Wednesdays at lunch. Students are welcome to pack a lunch or eat the lunch provided at LifeWise (free of charge).

To enroll your MS/HS student, go to lifewise.org/continentaloh. Once enrolled, you’ll be emailed the lunch menu.

Week One is Almost Complete! 🏁

Next up is Miss Jessica! She has been with us since we started 5 years ago as a substitute teacher and volunteer—she’s even served as a board member! She’s willing and ready to do whatever she can for the sake of the Gospel! This year, she is teaching our elementary students on Fridays!

Here’s a little bit about her:

What’s your favorite Bible passage and why?
✨John Chapters 15-17 because it describes our relationship with the Trinity and how we become united with God.
John 15:7-8 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”

What do you like to do in your free time?
✨ I like to garden and cook in my free time but I also like to sit and read the Bible every morning while I drink my coffee. 😊

What is your favorite color?
✨ Purple

What are you looking forward to this school year?
✨ Meeting all my students this year and watch how Jesus works in and through them!

Day 2, Let’s Go!! 🏃‍♂️

Up next to take the podium is Miss Peyton! Here’s a little bit about her:

1. What’s one of your favorite Bible passages? Why?
✨ Ecclesiastes 3:11 - “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
It’s a beautiful reminder that all seasons of life and the things we go through are for a reason.

2. What is something you like doing in your free time?
✨ I love to read! And I have a few scripture coloring books that I sit down with every once in a while.

3. Favorite color
✨ Green

4. What are you looking forward to this school year?
✨ I am looking forward to spending time learning about God DURING SCHOOL!

Miss Peyton teaches on Monday and Wednesday! She’s ready for a wonderful year with her kiddos!

Welcome back to school, Pirates! 💛🏴‍☠️💙

As school starts, we want to introduce you to our LifeWise teachers!

Opening up the classroom for the year today is Miss Carrie! When LifeWise started 5 years ago, her husband, Mr. Brian, was a volunteer. He wanted our kids to “love God and love others”. Miss Carrie joined our team last year as a volunteer and is excited for the opportunity to carry on the mission her husband died believing in as a teacher! She believes this is so much bigger than ourselves and she’s excited to carry out The Great Commission! If your student goes to LifeWise on Tuesday, this is person teaching them Bible based character education.

✨We see each elementary classes once a week during a time that doesn’t interfere with their instructional time.

Come One, Come All! 📣

Tonight is our Back to School Open Prayer Night! The classroom will be open from 5-8 and all are welcome to come at any point during that time (and stay as long as they want) and pray on your own, wherever and however you like! You can lay hands on the desks, walk around the property, pray on the bus, or find a spot to sit down and write a prayer for us to post in our prayer closet! The options are endless!

Come bathe our space and this year in prayer!

We are excited to see our students in just a few short days!

When we asked our teachers what they were most excited for this year, this is what they said:

✨To teach the kids about Jesus and read the Bible together!

✨Bringing the gospel to public school kids, during their school day!

✨For the opportunity to share the good news with these kids!

✨To have the opportunity to continue the mission that my husband died believing in.

✨To build relationships with the students and help them deepen their relationship with Jesus.

✨To learn with my students what the Bible says and encouraging them to live it out together and while we’re apart!

This mission is so much bigger than us and we are praying for this year ahead. Join us Monday night anytime from 5-8 at our classroom to open the year in prayer at our open prayer night! Pray however you like, wherever you like, at your own pace. We want to come together seeking God for another year of ministry, the school, and our students and families!

What’s going on with the LifeWise teachers?

For the 26-27 school year, we are excited to announce we have a whole team of teachers! We have 6 different teachers this year! Miss Christy in returning for her 5th year at LifeWise Continental to teach kindergarten and Kinderstart and the remaining 5 will serve 1st-12th grade! 👨‍🏫👩‍🏫
