Senior Master Sgt. Stephen “Diver” Metcalf was more than the President of the Vanderbilt Snowmobile Club — he was the driving force behind its growth, strength, and future.
Through his leadership, dedication, and tireless work ethic, Diver helped guide the club into a new era. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping the Vanderbilt Snowmobile Club achieve tax-exempt status, securing a stronger foundation for generations of riders and volunteers to come. He understood that a successful club was built not by one person alone, but by bringing hardworking people together with a shared purpose. Under his leadership the club became stronger, more organized and united.
Diver led with humility, determination, and pride. Whether it was improving trails, organizing projects, supporting fellow riders, or working behind the scenes, he gave countless hours to make the club better for everyone. His passion for snowmobiling and commitment to the Vanderbilt community left a lasting mark that will not be forgotten.
To honor his legacy and everything he gave to the club, the Vanderbilt Snowmobile Club proudly dedicates and names its new PistenBully groomer in his memory. It is a fitting tribute to a man whose hard work helped pave the way for so many others to enjoy the trails he cared about so deeply.
Though Diver may no longer ride beside us, his spirit will continue down every trail, in every snowfall, and in the continued success of the club he loved.
