As most of you know, the inspiration for our event, Jon Hollin, passed away earlier this year. He fought his entire life with courage, resilience, and humor, surviving a double lung transplant, a kidney transplant, and nearly two years of relentless health battles after his heart attack.

Because of Jon's passing, we are closing our GoFundMe fundraiser. We are deeply saddened that the funds raised will not be needed for his in-home care, but they will not go to waste.

Jon and his family and friends dedicated themselves to raising over $1 million for CF research during his life. It feels right that the generosity you showed him in his final chapter will now go toward the cause he championed through WeWillRockCF. All donations made to this GoFundMe will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, directed by his family toward specific causes and programs working to find a cure for CF.

To every one of the 594 donors who gave, we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts. You showed up for Jon when he needed it most, and your kindness meant the world to him and his family. Hello friends of We Will ROCK CF! Please see this video and letter from our founder, Jason, about a very important new fundraising mission for the the Hollin family.

Friends,

So many of you have joined us at We Will Rock CF since 2008. Together, we've raised over $1,000,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Research and have been inspired by the life, kindness, and struggles of Jon Hollin.

Today, we have a new mission. In February 2024, Jon suffered a heart attack that left him with a brain injury and significant complications. He's been in the hospital or rehab nearly every day since then. Jon continues to make progress and has exhibited incredible strength against tall odds, but he has a long way to go. The header image above shows Jon just before his heart attack (right) and recently on a rare visit outside (left).

We need to get him out of the hospital and back home where he can continue to recover in a place of comfort. However, the cost of home care is daunting. I'm reaching out to the We Will Rock Family to ask for your financial support for the Hollin Family as they fight to bring Jon home.

So many of you have reached out over the past year to ask if there was anything you could do. The answer was always to pray and keep Jon in your thoughts. Jon is doing better, he's gained almost 25 pounds, he's doing more and more work with physical therapy.

Many of our prayers have been answered, Jon is here! So what we need now is to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to make the future feasible. There's a list in the body of this link that will give you an idea of what it will take to bring him home.

My Friends of We Will Rock CF,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share some important news regarding our annual charity event.

As many of you know, Jon has been facing some significant health challenges. In February, he had a heart attack and has been in the hospital and rehab ever since. Due to his ongoing recovery, we have made the decision to cancel this year’s event.

While we won’t be gathering as planned, we encourage you to consider making a donation to the CF Foundation for We Will Rock CF in Jon’s honor. Your continued support means the world to us and will help advance vital research and care for those affected by cystic fibrosis.
