As most of you know, the inspiration for our event, Jon Hollin, passed away earlier this year. He fought his entire life with courage, resilience, and humor, surviving a double lung transplant, a kidney transplant, and nearly two years of relentless health battles after his heart attack.
Because of Jon's passing, we are closing our GoFundMe fundraiser. We are deeply saddened that the funds raised will not be needed for his in-home care, but they will not go to waste.
Jon and his family and friends dedicated themselves to raising over $1 million for CF research during his life. It feels right that the generosity you showed him in his final chapter will now go toward the cause he championed through WeWillRockCF. All donations made to this GoFundMe will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, directed by his family toward specific causes and programs working to find a cure for CF.
To every one of the 594 donors who gave, we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts. You showed up for Jon when he needed it most, and your kindness meant the world to him and his family.
