From our daughter, Sarah Hoffman:
We would really appreciate your prayers for my dad, Chuck, THIS Friday morning. He’s scheduled for serious back surgery around 7:30 a.m.
Dad hurt his back in March, just before a trip to Rwanda. At first, we all figured it would heal. It didn’t. The pain got worse and worse, and we eventually learned he has spinal stenosis—a narrowing around the spine that puts intense pressure on the nerves.
He’s also been dealing with significant neuropathy and weakness in his legs. I have never seen my dad in this much pain!
And if you know my dad, you know sitting still is not exactly his thing. Even now, he’s still putting together teaching and training teams, and he fully plans to travel again once he’s recovered. He wants very much to get healthy, get strong, and get back to the work God has called him to do.
We know his usefulness, calling, and future are not defined by what his body is doing right now. There is still a whole lot of life ahead—not just getting back to ministry, but also making mischief with the grandkids. 😊
Would you please pray specifically for:
• wisdom and steady hands for his surgeon, Dr. Sursal, and the entire medical team
• healing from the stenosis and neuropathy
• restored strength and function in his legs
• freedom from pain
• a smooth surgery and quick recovery with no complications
We are asking the Lord boldly for healing and trusting Him with every detail.
And if you know and love Dad, I know a few words of encouragement would mean more to him right now than you probably realize. ❤️
