What a day! ๐Ÿ’œ

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 LMC Leadership Summit and spent the day learning, connecting, and growing together. There is something powerful about bringing so many community leaders into one room with a shared commitment to becoming better leaders and making a greater impact.

A special thank you to our Front Page Presenting Sponsor, Entergy Texas, and to Brian Garcia for sharing his story and helping set the tone for the day, as well as our Headline Sponsor, Community Impact, for their support of this yearโ€™s Summit and giving us a glimpse into the fascinating world of hyperlocal news.

What an incredible lineup of speakers! Dr. Kozhi Makai, Amy Mayer, Dr. Bridgette Chambers, and John Garrett each challenged us, inspired us, and gave us ideas and perspectives we can carry forward long after today.

Congratulations to our Servant Leader Award Honoree Angela Rucker and our Core Values Award Honoree Dr. Sarah Blakelock!

We are grateful for every person who showed up ready to learn, grow, connect, and invest in their leadership.

This is what leadership looks like - learning together, growing together, and continuing to make a difference in our community.

Thank you to our Summit Committee, all of the volunteers, table sponsors, and attendees who made today a success!

One point from first placeโ€”and completely all-in for Montgomery County students!

Leadership Montgomery County was proud to sponsor a table at last nightโ€™s EfTA Trivia Night. Our team brought its A-game, shared plenty of laughs and finished just one point shy of the top spotโ€”all while helping raise funds for a mission that matters.

Weโ€™re especially proud of our own '14, who leads EfTA and this event with tremendous purpose and excellence, and another LMC graduate '87, who kept the competition lively as the eveningโ€™s emcee.

EfTA invests in the students who will become our communityโ€™s future professionals, innovators and leaders. You can join the mission by making a gift, hosting a student intern, sharing your experience on a career panel or volunteering through one of EfTAโ€™s outstanding programs.

Learn how to get involved at EfTA-US.orgโ€”because helping students see and pursue their future is a win for our entire community.

LMC Leadership Master Class 5 - Strong leaders never stop investing in their capacity to lead.

We are proud to introduce LMCโ€™s Leadership Master Class 5: 19 accomplished LMC alumni who are choosing to keep growing, challenging themselves, and investing in the future of Montgomery County.

Leadership Master Class is presented in partnership with the Center for Executive Development at Texas A&M Universityโ€™s Mays Business School and four local Partner Chambers: the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber, Greater EMC Chamber, Southwest Montgomery County Chamber, and The Woodlands Area Chamber.

Through this advanced six-session experience, participants will sharpen their skills, explore complex challenges, strengthen valuable connections, and discover new ways to turn their leadership into meaningful community impact.

These leaders represent different organizations, industries and perspectives, but they share one commitment: to keep learning so they can continue leading well.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming the members of Leadership Master Class 5. We look forward to seeing where this next chapter of lifetime learning takes them, and how their continued growth will benefit our entire community.

SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: DR. KOZHI SIDNEY MAKAI

The world is changing faster than ever. For leaders, teams, and organizations, staying relevant requires more than reacting to change. It requires the ability to adapt with purpose, speed, and resilience.

At the 2026 Leadership Summit, Dr. Kozhi Sidney Makai will present โ€œThe AGILE Leader,โ€ a timely and practical exploration of the agility leaders need to thrive amid uncertainty.

Dr. Makai is a performance architect and identity strategist who has spent more than 25 years helping leaders understand a powerful truth: identity drives behavior, behavior drives performance, and performance drives results.

A native of Zambia, Dr. Makai came to the United States following a distinguished professional and all-nation basketball career. Starting with $2,000 and a return ticket, he built a performance architecture firm that now supports global brands and their leaders. He holds both a Ph.D. focused on leadership and organizational change and a Psy.D. focused on positive psychology and resiliency. He is also a Navy Reserve officer, an award-winning researcher, and the author of seven books.

This appearance carries special meaning, Lone Star College is where Dr. Makai began his college journey and first stepped onto a stage. Now he returns to the System Office with a message created for leaders navigating relentless change.

Attendees will discover why agility is more than a tool or technique. It begins with identity, and shapes how leaders think, respond, perform, and build cultures capable of adapting at speed.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND ! DR. BRIDGETTE CHAMBERS

How do organizations prepare for whatโ€™s next while continuing to grow, adapt, and perform today?

At the 2026 Leadership Summit, Bridgette Chambers, Ph.D., will present โ€œBuilding a Future-Ready Organization: Leading Growth, Change, and Continuous Improvement at Every Level.โ€

Dr. Chambers is an entrepreneur, educator, investor, growth strategist, bestselling author, and Executive Professor in the Department of Management at Texas A&M Universityโ€™s Mays Business School. An expert in organizational change and transformation, she has led more than $1 billion in related projects and initiatives.

Her accomplishments have earned her more than a dozen American Business Awards, including Turnaround Executive of the Year, Maverick of the Year, and Female Executive of the Year. She is the author of the Amazon bestseller โ€œProfitable Problem-Solvingโ€ and co-author of โ€œFrom the Court to the Boardroomโ€ with four-time Olympic gold medalist Lisa Leslie.

In this practical and engaging keynote, Dr. Chambers will explore how leaders at every level, from the C-suite to the front line, can create greater ownership, improve decision-making, strengthen collaboration, and turn change into meaningful progress. Attendees will leave with practical approaches for building leadership capacity, creating a culture of continuous improvement, and preparing people across the organization to contribute to what comes next.

Artificial intelligence has moved far beyond polishing emails. Todayโ€™s tools can create presentations, produce videos, streamline complex work and give organizations capabilities that once required an additional team member.

At the 2026 LMC Leadership Summit, nationally recognized technology leader Amy Mayer will help us understand what that means for leaders right now.

Amy is the founder and CEO of friEdTech, president of the friEdTech Foundation and a former classroom teacher turned entrepreneur. For more than two decades, she has helped leaders adopt new technologies, work smarter and expand their impact. She is also the author of Beyond Worksheets: Creative Ways to Teach & Engage Students.

In her interactive session, The Secret Sauce: Leading Through the AI Shiftโ€”Leadership Edition, Amy will explore:

โ€ข What AI can actually do today
โ€ข Why ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are built for different jobs
โ€ข How to bring every generation on your team into the AI conversation
โ€ข How to avoid inaccurate, off-brand or ineffective results
โ€ข Practical ways to save time, protect your brain space and lead forward

No technical background is requiredโ€”just curiosity and a willingness to prepare your organization for whatโ€™s next.

Bring your leadership team, board members or nonprofit colleagues. This is a conversation every organization needs to be having.
